The Aids Intervention Program

The Aids Intervention Program TAIP has a mission to “empower the Evangelical church to get involved in the appropriate mitigation of the effects of HIV/AIDS with compassion”.

The AIDS Intervention Program (TAIP) established in 1989 under the Deliverance Church Uganda has a mission to “empower the Evangelical church to get involved in the appropriate mitigation of the effects of HIV/AIDS with compassion”. In fulfilling this mission, TAIP seeks out and challenges church congregations to consider their involvement. To-date TAIP has facilitated the establishment of about 1

87 church based care groups of between 8 and 15 persons from 60 different Evangelical Born-Again Church denominations in 20 districts in Uganda. Some of these groups – referred to as Good Samaritan Teams (GST) - have evolved to register as faith-based CBOs. Other 400 para and church organizations have indirectly benefited from TAIP’s capacity building activities through its cascading training approach.
