At Esuubi, empowerment begins with learning, patience, and the courage to try something new. What started as simple training sessions on measuring and cutting fabric is becoming a life-changing opportunity for many women. Through teamwork and hands-on learning, women are gaining tailoring skills that are building their confidence and helping them discover their abilities. ✂️🧵

Every lesson matters — from learning how to measure fabric correctly to creating and finishing handmade products with care. Step by step, the women are turning fabric into beautiful creations that reflect creativity, hard work, and determination. For many, this is more than learning a skill; it is the beginning of independence and self-reliance.

The products made after the training are symbols of hope and transformation. They represent women working hard to create better opportunities for themselves and their families. Through these skills, many are now able to support their children, earn an income, and positively impact their communities.

Esuubi continues to provide a safe space where women can learn, grow, and believe in their potential. Every stitch and finished product tells a story of resilience, empowerment, and brighter futures ahead. Together, we are creating confidence, dignity, opportunities, and lasting impact.

Every new week is a reminder that we still have the chance to grow, support one another, and continue building stronger communities together. What started as a simple act of giving women chickens to rear has grown into a source of hope, income, and transformation for many families in the community. Through this initiative, women were supported with chickens and basic knowledge on poultry keeping to help them start small income-generating activities from home.

With dedication and hard work, the chickens began laying eggs which the women now sell within their communities. The income earned has helped them provide food for their families, pay school fees for their children, meet medical expenses, and support daily household needs. Some women have even expanded their poultry projects by increasing the number of chickens they rear.

Beyond the financial support, the project has restored confidence and independence among the women. They are now able to contribute to their families’ wellbeing and make decisions that positively impact their homes and communities.

This initiative continues to show that empowering women with sustainable opportunities creates lasting change not only for individuals, but for entire families and communities.

Happy to share with you updates from our recent See Me Safe Space Day. 💙

Last weekend, we had another amazing and impactful day with children living with multiple disabilities and their caregivers.

During the session, the children had the opportunity to undergo therapy and physical exercises with our therapist. Many of these children had never accessed therapy services before due to the high costs involved.

Although some of the exercises were painful because their muscles had become stiff over time, this was an important step toward improving their mobility, strength, and overall wellbeing. With continuous support through our See Me Safe Space Days, we believe therapy will help many of these children regain comfort, movement, and confidence.

A huge thank you to Maureen, Lyn, and Julie for the incredible support in making this wonderful project possible. Your kindness and generosity are making a real difference in the lives of these children and their caregivers.

Empowerment goes beyond saving money together it is about creating opportunities that transform lives and strengthen communities

Through vegetable gardening, women in our empowerment clubs are learning practical skills that help them provide food for their families, earn extra income, and become more self-reliant. These clubs have become spaces of growth, teamwork, and encouragement where women continue to support one another.

For many children, access to books and a quiet place to study was once a challenge. Today, through the ELSOM Community Library, children now have the chance to read, learn, and dream bigger than ever before. Filled with school textbooks, storybooks, and cultural literature, the library is helping young readers improve their literacy skills, expand their imagination, and grow in confidence.

Beyond the shelves of books, the library has created a safe and supportive environment where children are encouraged to explore their talents, ask questions, and believe in their potential. Many of the women we work with never had the opportunity to go to school, but through hands-on training and support, they have now gained practical skills that are opening new doors in their lives. These skills are not just tools—they are a source of confidence, independence, and hope.
