Volunteer Opportunities in Uganda, Africa 2026 | See Me Smile Uganda/Lifeline Smiling Initiative

In many rural communities across Uganda, hundreds of children are growing up without access to quality education, basic healthcare or a safe place to call home.
That is why we created See Me Smile Uganda, also known as the Lifeline Smiling Initiative, a mission dedicated to building an orphanage, supporting local schools with textbooks and furniture, organising volunteer placements, and providing essential medical outreach to the communities.
We are inviting kind hearted people from around the world to join us in making a real difference this year.

Volunteer Activities Include:

Teaching children in rural schools
Helping to build and paint the orphanage
Volunteering in rural health centres or hospitals
Supporting community health outreach programs
Teaching music and instruments like piano to youth
Coaching football (soccer) in local teams
Assisting as a paramedic with our community ambulance services

No professional experience is required just passion and a willingness to make a difference.

Martha’s Story and a New Call for Help🇺🇬🇺🇬

On 10th December 2020, Martha's mother reached out for help after giving birth to a child with a severe complication that seemed to worsen every day.Through the compassion of you, our friends, a fundraising campaign was launched here on Facebook on 12th December 2020, and thanks to your generosity, See Me Smile Uganda was able to raise the funds needed to help, arrangement were done and from Soft Power Clinic, Martha was admitted to CoRSU Rehabilitation Centre Entebbe for further management. Under our care, the little one was also initiated on physiotherapy treatment and she improved beautifully.

Sadly, when COVID hit, our funding stopped and so did her treatment. Physiotherapy helps children like Martha strengthen and stand on their own, but now, she is unable to walk again. The mother says transport costs to the physiotherapy centre are her biggest challenge.

We have revived our health program and made a follow-up. To help Martha continue improving, we now need a gait trainer or pediatric walker, and our team will support her with daily visits.

Every little effort counts. Let’s join hands once more and help Martha stand, walk, and smile again.

Are you fun-loving, caring, adventurous, or simply someone with a kind heart?
Are you a nurse, teacher, driver, counselor, dancer, or just passionate about making a difference?

See Me Smile Uganda (The Lifeline Smiling Initiative) is calling you to join our family of volunteers spreading hope, love, and smiles across Uganda.

Together, we:
💚 Offer free transport to sick and disabled children.
💚Support kids with Down syndrome and those in need of surgeries but can’t afford them.
💚Dress the needy and bring joy to struggling families.
💚Teach and mentor children in partner schools.
💚 Inspire communities through compassion, creativity, and talent.

Our mission goes beyond giving; it’s about restoring dignity and creating brighter futures for children and youth affected by Down syndrome,hydrocephalus,malnutrition, and other complex conditions.
