The Church can have buildings, programs, preaching, music, and activity and still be starving for the presence of God. Moses understood this when he told the Lord, "If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence" (Exodus 33:15). He knew that what distinguished God's people was not what they could accomplish for God, but that God Himself was among them. We must never become satisfied with knowing about God while losing our hunger to know Him. The answer to a dry and powerless church is not more religious machinery; it is a people who will seek God until His presence becomes more precious to them than everything else.

“Then David said to his son Solomon, “Be strong and courageous, and take action; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you nor abandon you [but will guide you in the construction] until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord. ”
