Butembe Women With Disabilities Development Association (BUWEDDA) is a grassroots NGO in Jinja, Uganda working to empower rural disabled women ,girls & children. GIVING DISABLED WOMEN & GIRLS THE UPPER HAND

BUWEDDA was founded in 1999 when it became apparent that many village women & girls with physical & mental disabilities in eastern Uganda were being socially excluded from their local communi

ties and denied access to educational, economic & health programmes. BUWEDDA aims to see vulnerable disabled women, girls & children gain empowerment and independence by providing micro-finance, reproductive health information, income-generating skills and mobility aids.
