Wied group
WIED group is registered with the government of Uganda as a community based organization (CBO),WITH REGISTRATION No: 1201 issued on 04/04/2011 at Jinja District Local Government Gender Office. Name of Organization: Women Integrated Empowerment Development (WIED)
In 2003 over thirty women around Jinja Town , mostly single mothers and caregivers having various skills in hand
icrafts came together with the main purpose of marketing their products Six strands necklace Sleeping bag case Five strands necklace one. To mobilise a minimum of thirty women to jointly under take competent income generating activities .
2. To promote skills development for a flourishing cottage industry that directly benefits at least thirty households in Jinja district.
3. To equip WIED members with social and spiritual parenting skills in order to fight off moral decay and develope spiritual growth Bible Study.
4. To train women in methods of hygien and disease prevention and in ways of improving nutritional intake in their households and communities.
5. To conduct adult literacy classes for providing basic education to illiterate Members.
6. To expand our services and products to different parts of the country and a broad.
7. To contribute to the needs of our group'selderly members who are also helpless. PRODUCTS
The products included among others necklaces, earrings and bangles from either paper, bamboo or wood; mats, hats, Paperbead Coinpurse Multiplebeads earrings Larnyard , hats, money purses, moneypass , wall hangings, bags, cards from either palm leaves, banana fibers or tree back; batiks, scuffs, and cards. WIED started with only seventeen (17) women who formed the original group but currently there are forty five(45) members who are carrying out various activities under the name of Women Integrated Empowerment Development (WIED)

Impact of WIED activities on communities.
1. During the process of making various crafts,WIED members have give training in crafts skills to unemployed women,youths and school dropouts in communities.
2. Participating in WIED projects community members have obtained emploment where they earn an income
3. Both moral and spiritual in our communities are improving as we work together in the WIED activities.
4. The communities are obtaining knowledge about better nutrition intake ,house hold hygiene and HIV/AIDS awareness.This creates un enlightened healthier community.
5. By WIED group selling products to international markets promotes a frican culture a broad.
