We are deeply saddened by the loss of Oketcho Lawrence, a beloved member of the Tjeko Uganda family. He joined us in 2019 as a volunteer and became a valued staff member in 2022. His dedication, passion, and kindness inspired many, and his untimely departure has left a void in our community.
Oketcho's life was marked by service, compassion, and excellence. As a coordinator, leader, educator, and skilled welder, he touched countless lives. His legacy will live on through the memories we shared and the impact he had on our community.
On December 10, 2025, Oketcho's life was tragically cut short in a brutal attack. He was a victim of violence, and his passing is a stark reminder of the fragility of life. We mourn his loss and extend our heartfelt condolences to his loved ones, friends, and the community that mourns his passing.
Oketcho's funeral service was a testament to his impact, with thousands gathering to pay their respects. His burial on 13/12/2025 in Mayuge District, Bukawongo Village, was a celebration of his life and legacy. May his soul rest in peace.
