We are pleased to share a key milestone from our ongoing work in Kisasi Parish, Busede Sub County – Jinja District.
Through six community mobilization meetings, we successfully engaged 1,440 new parents and established 36 functional parenting groups under the Positive Parenting and Relationships (PfR) program. These meetings laid a strong foundation for community understanding, buy-in, and ownership of positive parenting practices.
The process emphasized dialogue, reflection, and practical solutions to everyday parenting challenges. Parents demonstrated strong commitment by organizing themselves into structured groups that will continue meeting regularly to learn, support one another, and promote safe and nurturing environments for children.
This achievement highlights the power of community-led approaches in strengthening families and preventing violence against children. With sustained partnerships and investment, these parenting groups will have lasting impact at household and community levels.
We look forward to building on this momentum with partners who share a vision for resilient families and protected children.

Three years ago, something powerful has been taking shape in Kisasi Parish, Busede Sub County – Jinja District.
Through six community mobilization meetings, we successfully reached 1,440 parents and supported the formation of 36 new parenting groups under the Positive Parenting and Relationships (PfR) program. These meetings were more than gatherings—they were spaces for honest conversations, learning, and collective commitment to raising children in safe, loving, and supportive homes.
Parents, community leaders, and facilitators came together to reflect on everyday parenting challenges and explore practical, positive ways of nurturing children and strengthening family relationships. The enthusiasm and openness shown by parents clearly demonstrated a strong desire for change and growth within the community.
What stood out most was the sense of ownership. Parents did not just attend; they committed themselves to walking this journey together through structured parenting groups that will continue learning, sharing, and supporting one another.
We are encouraged by the momentum created in Kisasi Parish and deeply grateful to the community members who welcomed this initiative with open hearts. With continued partnership and support, these parenting groups will become a foundation for safer homes and brighter futures for children.

📢 KALNETWORK JINJA Partners in Capacity Building Training!

KALNETWORK Jinja, along with LICAM-UG and Community Health Partners, are currently participating in an intensive 11-day capacity building training at the Civil Service College in Jinja, facilitated by TASO. This training follows a rigorous assessment conducted in July by TASO under the Global Fund, with support from UDHA.

We’re excited to share that these Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) will receive funding through the Grant Cycle (GC7) from 2024 to 2026, dedicated to supporting Uganda’s fight against HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis. In line with this, we are actively seeking additional funding partners to expand and sustain our efforts across these critical health areas.

A special thank you to UDHA for their commitment to strengthening our capacity. We look forward to hosting USAID in upcoming visits to KALNETWORK Jinja partners as we continue this journey of growth and impact.

🌍 International Day of the Girl Child Celebration! 🌍

On October 23, 2024, Live Child African Ministries Uganda, in partnership with Jinja District Local Government and CRVPF cluster partners—Omwana Cluster and Busede Safe Child Cluster—joined the global community in celebrating International Day of the Girl Child at Busede Sub-County Headquarters. This year’s theme, "The Girl’s Vision for the Future," reflects our commitment to amplifying girls' voices and envisioning a world where they can flourish.

This day held special significance as we gathered in Busede, a community where girls and young people face significant challenges, including violence and social barriers. Our purpose was clear: to raise awareness, inspire hope, and advocate for an end to violence against children. Together, we shared stories, learned from one another, and reinforced our commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment where girls can grow, dream, and lead.

Let’s work hand in hand to protect and empower every girl. 🌸💪
