Jinja Scouts participated in the 2026 Day of the African Child at Mafubira Primary School.

The event was organised by Jinja City Council, and child protection stakeholders. Under the theme of ensuring universal access to water, sanitation, and hygiene.
Jinja Scouts joined with government officials, schools, and NGOs to advocate for children's rights and education. The event allowed them to affirm their dedication to empowering young people.

Our brass band is changing the style at camp parades!
Meet our scouts, smartly dressed and ready to lead. We are a uniform youth movement, we take immense pride in our colors, our signature khaki, and our standard badges. We keep our style simple, smart, and classic.

We just participated in the 3rd global bicycle scout Jamboree with participants of joining to cycle 15km for health, equity and sustainability. Checkout our tiktok link for photos.

What an incredible camp it's been! Our scouts spent the weekend building skills, character, and community spirit under this year's theme: "Skill up for the World."
From arrival inspections and orientation on Day 1, to morning drills, hygiene checks, and an open parade graced by the Major Kimera as chief guest, our campers showed true scout spirit throughout.
Highlights included mentorship sessions for our girls and boys, a warm campfire night, patrol competitions testing knowledge and skills, hands on cooking projects, creative dance showcases, and school project displays from our non-competing teams.
We closed out with a thrilling camp quiz on the final day sunday, with prizes awarded to our top teams!
Proud of every scout who showed up ready to learn, grow, and skill up.

Our training team is reaching new heights, and we are proud of essential scout literature specifically tailored to our local program. These resources are vital for ensuring that scouting remains relevant and continues to serve its purpose of nurturing the next generation.

we recommend the following new publications to all scout instructors, school patrons, leaders, trainers, and open troopers:

*The cub program Guide.
*The ibuget the company scout leader
*Basic training course handbook; these are by Opoka Rohwan .

*Marine scouting Uganda. Skipper's hand book by Mike Baraza - .

The council encourages every leader and trainer to integrate these books into their programs to keep our standards, and be forward-looking.

Nigeria has officially entered the race to host the , positioning Abuja as the centerpiece of its bid amid growing competition from . An inspection by the African Union Sports Council is set to assess facilities, infrastructure, and readiness, marking a key step in the selection process. 

Nigeria is banking on its proven hosting record, including past continental events, and plans to upgrade venues, transport, and athlete housing to strengthen its case.  The bid is also expected to drive , boost , and reinforce Nigeria’s status as a continental .
