Our story...
Pure Joy was established so women living in Jinja could come together to learn new skills in a supportive environment. Many of the women left school early or did not have the opportunity of a education. Women of varying ages, ethnicity and religion enjoy meeting to socialise, share ideas and gain skills to help them become independent and financially sufficient.
Pure Joy raises funds to support the ‘sisterhood’ and ensure that programs at the Women’s Centre can continue. Pure Joy women make a range of products including reusable sanitary products, school uniforms and commercial products for sale on the open market. All profits from sales are returned to the Women’s Centre.
Pure Joy, Uganda is a Rotary Club of Woy Woy / Rotary Australia Overseas Aid Fund (RAOAF) project (managed by Rotary Australia World Community Service) number 91-2017-18. RAOAF has Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) registration and has been listed as a Charitable Fund that can accept tax deductible donations from individuals or organisations. 100% of all donations received are returned to the project.
