St. Stephen Church of Uganda in Kakira buzzed with excitement as Ladders connection foundation in conjunction with Podrska Foundation hosted an enlightening workshop. The event brought together community members eager to learn about humane education, plant-based farming, and vegan cooking.

The day began with a thought-provoking session on treating animals with kindness and compassion. Participants discussed the importance of empathy towards all living beings and explored practical ways to implement these values in their daily lives. From proper pet care to understanding wildlife, the workshop shed light on our shared responsibility towards the animal kingdom.

As the sun climbed higher, attention shifted to the gardens, where experts demonstrated organic farming techniques. learning about composting, companion planting, and natural pest control. The session emphasized the benefits of growing one's food, from improved nutrition to reduced environmental impact.

The afternoon saw our skilled chef guid participants through the art of plant-based cooking, unveiling the versatility and flavors of local produce. The air filled with aromatic spices as attendees chopped, sautéed, and seasoned their way through delicious vegan recipes.

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the food sampling session. Eyes widened and taste buds danced as participants savored dishes they had helped prepare. From hearty jackfruit stews to creamy avocado desserts, the spread showcased the diversity and deliciousness of plant-based cuisine.

As the workshop drew to a close, participants left with full stomachs and minds brimming with new knowledge. The event not only provided practical skills but also sparked important conversations about our relationship with animals, the environment, and our food systems.
