Action 4 Health Uganda (A4HU), in partnership with Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevölkerung (DSW), with funding from Makerere University School of Public Health, is now accepting applications from Ugandan Women in Health Innovators to join the Young Women Social Entrepreneurship Accelerator Program, Cohort V 2026.
This initiative empowers aspiring female entrepreneurs driving change in Uganda’s health sector. Selected participants will gain mentorship, training, and resources to scale their innovative solutions.

Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevoelkerung (DSW), in partnership with Action 4 Health Uganda (A4HU), is seeking an experienced consultant to conduct a feasibility study for the project “Reduction of Teenage Pregnancy and HIV among Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) in Oyam District.”
The assignment involves assessing the project concept using OECD DAC criteria, analyzing the local context, engaging stakeholders, and providing actionable recommendations to strengthen the intervention design. The study will combine qualitative and quantitative methods, applying participatory and gender-sensitive approaches.

❗ Applicants must demonstrate proven experience in feasibility and evaluation studies, strong knowledge of SRHR and youth programming in Uganda, and excellent analytical and communication skills. Fluency in English and Lango is an advantage.

🎊 🎓 Congratulations to the 10 young women entrepreneurs of POWER Cohort 3 2025! Your diligence and resilience shone through after an intense three-month period of training, coaching, and mentorship in social entrepreneurship. Out of the 10, three outstanding young women innovators were rigorously selected by a panel of three judges.

👑 Champion: Nadia Malker Nanteza, Founder of Lyfex Africa| Nourishing Lives, Empowering Communities. This business aims to nourish lives and advance health equity through nutrition and financial empowerment. Nadia walked away with a cash prize of UGX 1,000,000.

🏆 1st Runner Up: Babirye Angella, Founder of Eco-Bella Organics a business venture geared towards restoring health, confidence, and dignity through organic solutions, walked away with a cash prize of UGX 700,000

🏆 2nd Runner Up: Elizabeth Kawalya Mbekeka, Founder of Better Minds a business venture geared towards nurturing minds and building futures, walked away with UGX 500,000

The other seven ladies each received seed capital worth UGX 200,000 to help them run their business ventures. Also noteworthy is the awarding of the Best Business Coach, a selection made by the young ladies. This Cohort's best was Sharon Natukunda, who is also a POWER Alumna and she walked away with UGX 300,000..

10 Young women in health innovators have undergone a three month intensive entrepreneurship accelerator program to polish up their business ideas into scalable ventures. In our school programs, we endeavor to address these with the truth so that every girl can have a dignified menstrual experience. This is done through activities like school debates and dialogues and the screening of the video documentary.
