I grew up watching my mother struggle every day. And as a young boy, I believed life would be easier if I just went to live with my father. But when I got there, it was even harder than I'd imagined. Books were scarce, and sometimes one book had to be torn into two parts so different children could share it. I had to walk to school with almost nothing, and school fees often forced children to leave school altogether. Those experiences stayed with me. As I grew , I realized my childhood wasn't just my story. It's still the reality for thousands of children today. Every day children miss school over fees,or lack of sanitary supplies, or because their families can't afford learning materials.Many end up on the streets, not because they want to, but because poverty leaves them with few choices. I promised myself that if I ever had the chance, I'd be part of the solution. That's why we're Girls Rising Up Network. Through our back-to-school campaign, we help vulnerable children to find hope through school supplies, educational support, and opportunities to stay in school. Every child we help reminds me of the boy I once was. I know that one act of kindness can change a life, because someone once believed in me. Today, I'm asking you to believe in another child. Whether you sponsor a child's education, donate school supplies, or contribute financially, your support gives a child a chance to stay in school and dream again. Together, we can ensure that poverty does not decide a child's future. Because every child deserves the opportunity to learn, to dream, and to rise.
