Bam Animal Clinics

Bam Animal Clinics We work in a region where animals have no rights, and people have not been informed about animal welfare / health ,management, care and the benefits.

Bam Animal Clinics is a non-profit charity organisation in Uganda, founded in 2009, born out of love and concern for animals treated cruelly or living on the streets and feeding in garbage for survival. Our goal is to Sensitize, Educate ,rescue, protect and improve the lives of all animals in Uganda. In order to achieve this goal, Bam puts into consideration a number of activities and guiding pri

nciples as seen here-under;
We support and enhance the sheltering of homeless dogs and cats at household and community levels, this has led to a great reduction in the killing of homeless dogs and cats on roads and through food poisonings. We have established veterinary networks to continuously supply information and awareness to the population regarding pet’s purposes and management. We sensitize the communities on animal birth control methods to reduce over proliferation. This is done at both household, community and districts levels through our Veterinary networks. In addition, we have adopted spaying and neutering programs at the different designated program centers. We educate the population about the dangers of having stray and homeless, unvaccinated dogs and cats. In this our major area of concern in scaling down the rate of the spread of rabies, a disease which has caused a great number of deaths in the region, devastated families and entire communities. We have created a strong linkage and referral system with other veterinarians, CSOs with mutual goals . This has helped us expand the coverage of our program activities in the different parts of the country

Special thanks to the people of Budaka. The majority of dogs brought to the site appeared to be in averagely good health, with only a few exceptions. That shows the care you are giving to the animals.

Many thanks to the people of Budaka! Your response was incredible. We had an overwhelming number of animals brought to the site for Vaccinations, Spay & Neuter more than we expected, and that speaks volumes about your care for animal welfare. We are also grateful that you stayed and listened attentively during today’s training session. Your participation, and willingness to learn made the day even more impactful. Special appreciation to our colleagues who joined us on the ground. You showed up, got your hands dirty, and fully participated in every activity. That teamwork is what made the “Budaka Annual Agric Expo” a success. This is what community action looks like. Thank you for choosing healthier, happier animals and a stronger Budaka

BAM Animal Clinics at the Budaka District Expo!
Today, we joined fellow stakeholders and colleagues at the Budaka District Expo, where we are showcasing the important role of animal health and welfare in community development.
Throughout the event, our team will be conducting a variety of activities, including spay and neuter services, animal vaccinations, exhibitions, animal welfare awareness, and veterinary advisory services. These activities are aimed at promoting responsible pet ownership, improving animal health, and supporting livestock productivity within our communities.
We look forward to interacting with farmers, pet owners, students, and all visitors attending the expo. Stop by our exhibition area to learn more about our work and how we can support the health and welfare of your animals.
Together, we can build healthier communities through better animal care.

Creating Local Animal Welfare Leaders:
Lasting change happens when communities take ownership of animal welfare.
Bam animal clinics has established and trained local trainers across multiple sub-counties in Eastern Uganda. These trainers are now passing on practical knowledge about animal welfare, donkey care, humane handling, and saddle making to fellow community members.
This community-based approach allows skills and knowledge to spread far beyond a single training session. It creates local champions who continue educating others long after our teams have left the area.
By empowering local leaders, we are building sustainable solutions that improve animal welfare for years to come.

A Simple Saddle Can Change a Donkey's life:
In the mountainous districts of Kween, Bukwo, and Kapchorwa, donkeys are the backbone of transportation. They carry food, water, firewood, and harvests across difficult terrain where vehicles often cannot reach. Yet many of these hardworking animals suffer from wounds and injuries caused by poor harnessing methods.
To address this challenge, BAM Animal Clinics trains donkey owners to make affordable sisal sack saddles that help reduce pressure, friction, and painful wounds during transportation. Through practical demonstrations, owners learn how simple local materials can significantly improve the comfort and welfare of their animals.
When animal welfare improves, productivity improves too. Healthy donkeys can work more comfortably while families benefit from safer and more reliable transport.
Together, we are proving that small innovations can create lasting change.

If you care for animals, you need to hear this.

Animals thrive when they receive consistent basic care—including proper nutrition, a safe environment, good health management, and positive human–animal interactions.

When these needs are met, stress is reduced and both physical and mental wellbeing improve.

For many households across Uganda, livestock are more than animals, they are a source of food, income, education, and financial security. When livestock become sick, entire families can be affected.
At Bam animal clinics, we work alongside livestock farmers to improve animal health, productivity, and welfare through professional veterinary services and practical farmer education.
Our teams provide vaccinations, disease diagnosis, treatment, deworming, reproductive health support, and guidance on good husbandry practices. We also help farmers recognize early signs of disease and implement preventive measures that reduce losses and improve herd health.
By supporting livestock health, we help strengthen food security, increase household income, and build more resilient communities.
We are proud to stand with farmers who work tirelessly every day to feed their families and contribute to national development.
Investing in animal health is investing in community prosperity.

Bringing Veterinary Care Closer to Communities That Need It Most:
Many communities across Uganda have limited access to veterinary services, leaving animals vulnerable to preventable diseases, injuries, and poor welfare conditions. At BAM Animal Clinics, we are committed to bridging this gap through our mobile veterinary outreach programs.
Our veterinary teams regularly travel to rural and underserved areas, providing essential services including animal examinations, disease diagnosis, treatment, vaccination, deworming, and animal welfare education. For many farmers and pet owners, these outreach visits are often the only opportunity to access professional veterinary care. Healthy animals play a vital role in supporting livelihoods, food security, companionship, and community well-being. By helping animals stay healthy, we are also supporting families who depend on them for income, transportation, protection, and emotional support.
Every animal treated, every owner educated, and every disease prevented contributes to stronger and healthier communities.
We extend our gratitude to our partners, supporters, and community members who make these outreach activities possible.
Together, we are creating a future where every animal has access to quality healthcare regardless of location.
