World Hepatitis Day | July 28
Today, we join the global community in observing World Hepatitis Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about viral hepatitis and encouraging prevention, early diagnosis, and timely treatment.
Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver caused by viruses known as Hepatitis A, B, C, D, and E. Left undiagnosed or untreated, some forms of hepatitis can lead to serious liver disease, including cirrhosis and liver cancer. The good news is that many cases can be prevented, managed, or treated through timely healthcare.
At Karin Community Initiative Uganda, we encourage everyone to take proactive steps to protect their liver health:
✅ Get tested for hepatitis if you are at risk.
✅ Get vaccinated against Hepatitis B.
✅ Practice good hygiene and safe food and water handling.
✅ Avoid sharing sharp objects such as needles and razors.
✅ Seek medical care early if you experience symptoms or have concerns.
Together, we can reduce the burden of hepatitis through awareness, prevention, and access to quality healthcare.
Know Hepatitis. Act Early. Protect Your Liver.
