Martyr's Day is a national public holiday in Uganda on June 3rd. The day commemorates the 45 martyrs, both Catholic and Anglican, who were killed for their commitment and love to Christ. They were executed for their refusal to renounce Christianity on the orders of Kabaka Mwanga II, then King of Buganda between 1885 and 1887.

Pray that Ugandan followers of Jesus would experience true worship, that comes only from the Holy Spirit.

Lord, thank you that your Holy Spirit dwells deep in our hearts when we invite you in. We pray for our Ugandan brothers and sisters, that they would experience the richness and fullness of true worship in Christ. We pray this would lead them in their lives, in their families, and their communities. In Your name, Amen.

World Malaria Day is an occasion to highlight the need for continued investment and sustained political commitment for malaria prevention and control. Clinically-diagnosed malaria is one of the leading causes of illness and death in Uganda, accounting for 25-40% of outpatient visits at health facilities, 15-20% of al hospital admissions, and 9-14% of all hospital deaths. The Ugandan government is working alongside others to remove malaria from the country with interventions which include providing long-lasting insecticide-treated nets and indoor residual spraying, preventing malaria in pregnancy and improving diagnostics and case management.
