Men's Mental Health Awareness Month: Real Men. Real Conversations. Real Life.

This June, as we observe Men's Mental Health Awareness Month, Stress Clinic Uganda stands with men and boys across Uganda and beyond.

Through our MPOWER Program, we are creating safe spaces where men can speak openly about their experiences, seek support, and build healthier lives for themselves, their families, and their communities.

🔹 Real Men
True strength is not about suffering in silence. It is about having the courage to acknowledge challenges, seek help when needed, and support others along the journey. Strength includes vulnerability.

🔹 Real Conversations
Mental health struggles often grow in silence. Honest conversations break stigma, foster connection, and build resilient communities where men feel seen, heard, and supported.

🔹 Real Life
Life comes with pressures, setbacks, loss, and uncertainty. Recognizing these realities and seeking support is not weakness—it is a pathway to healing, growth, and lasting wellbeing.

At Stress Clinic Uganda, we believe that when men thrive mentally and emotionally, families become stronger, communities become healthier, and future generations benefit.

This month, let's encourage every man to speak, listen, connect, and seek support when needed.

Real Men. Real Conversations. Real Life.

Empowering Teachers for Inclusive Classrooms: Dyslexia Awareness & Early Screening

Today, Stress Clinic Uganda had the privilege of facilitating a training on understanding dyslexia in the classroom at Kinder Planet Nursery School, as part of our Inclusive Education Program.

We sincerely appreciate Principal Isabella for the invitation and her commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment for all children.

The training brought together over 12 teachers who gained practical knowledge on identifying and supporting learners with dyslexia. We also demonstrated our free digital screening tool, accessible through the Ibara Partner platform, which supports the early identification of learning difficulties and enables timely referrals and interventions for learners who may need additional support.

The active participation and enthusiasm of the teachers reaffirmed the critical role educators play in ensuring every child has the opportunity to learn and thrive.

Together, we are building more inclusive classrooms where every learner is seen, supported, and empowered to succeed.

Building Emotionally Safe Churches Through the MindCare Discipleship Program

Today, Stress Clinic Uganda, in partnership with Gulu Bible Community Church, facilitated a church leaders’ engagement through the MindCare Discipleship Program (MDP) during a pastoral leadership conference in Gulu City attended by more than 200 pastors and church leaders.

The session focused on mental health awareness, stress and burnout among church leaders, emotional wellbeing in ministry, and application of the CARE Model (Connect, Acknowledge, Respond, Escalate) as a practical framework for pastoral support and compassionate ministry response.

The discussions highlighted the growing emotional and psychological pressures facing pastors and emphasized the importance of integrating mental health care into church systems to build emotionally safe, informed, and supportive faith communities.

➡️ Through our Inclusive Education Programme at Stress Clinic Uganda, we are supporting children with dyslexia, autism, and ADHD through early screening and teacher training on inclusive learning.

So far, 100 pupils have been screened in partnership with a Dubai-based organization, and we are now fundraising to support full diagnosis and tailored care for them.

If you are a school owner, administrator, or a parent struggling to understand your child’s learning or behavior challenges, link up with us for screening and support.

Any support—through donating or sharing our GoFundMe—would mean a lot. Thank you for standing with our work.

PRESS BRIEF

Stress Clinic Uganda and Ibara Company (UAE) Join Forces to Transform Early Detection and Inclusive Education for Children in Northern Uganda

Stress Clinic Uganda is proud to announce a strategic partnership with Ibara Company under the ADILE Program (Access to Diagnosis & Inclusive Learning Enhancement), marking a major step forward in expanding early screening and inclusive education for children with neurodevelopmental conditions in Northern Uganda.

The partnership responds to critical gaps in diagnostic access, teacher capacity, specialist availability, referral systems, and stigma affecting children with autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and related learning differences.

ADILE will deploy a digital screening tool that requires minimal internet connectivity, takes approximately 8 minutes to screen a child, and is provided free of charge, compared to an average cost of UGX 210,000 per child for conventional screening services. The program also includes certified training for pre-primary, primary, and lower secondary teachers to strengthen early identification and inclusive classroom practice.

Initial implementation: 80+ children screened; structured digital courses developed on autism, dyslexia, and ADHD.

Courses available: https://ibaralearn.com/

Interested in learning more or partnering to scale this work, please contact: [email protected]
| +256 782 882867

The initiative advances coordinated, scalable approaches to early detection, teacher capacity strengthening, and inclusive education delivery in low-resource settings.
