Family Care Uganda provides hope and a future for children coming from a hopeless place. The world is gaving challenges these days. Thank you. We need your help.

Providing a school for disadvantaged children from northern Uganda, we also sponsor many into secondary school and on into successful careers. No more so than the poorest of the poor. Family Care Uganda has been registered in Uganda since 1999 and our main focus is establishing a fully self-sustained school for some of the most disadvantaged in Gulu who were born to child soldiers during the war.

Others we sponsor, amidst our 200 children are from the remote Ik tribe and many young refugees from South Sudan. We continue to sponsor scores through secondary school and a number through tertiary. We are small but effective!

When our children come from completely different tribes and language groups, something like learning English terms for cousins, nephews and step-sister are actually quite complex and challenging! Relationships are defined in totally different ways from English. We have a lot of laughs as we try to help each other master it!

Debate time! Grades 3 and 4 young ones gave such eloquent presentations, despite so many having just started learning English recently. They love to rise to a challenge!

We received the most amazing gifts from Park Ridge Primary School kids in Australia! Sports equipment, games, books and puzzles. And our young Aussie friends all worked to raise money for these fabulous items!

A wonderful group of children at Park Ridge Primary school in Australia took time to make beautiful cards for our children of similar grades. Our kiddos are so excited, they're really happy to make cards back and we'll mail them soon. It's so interesting as children talk about their hobbies and lives and are starting to build bridges across cultures!

After Easter prayers, it was time to celebrate with a treat: goat meat for all! 🎉👌🏽🎶 Teacher Patrick helped the boys, who have already learnt the basics of butchering, prepare it well. So happy to celebrate together!

So proud of Mackline! 😍 She's been with us since she was young. While studying to become a nurse she found she has a serious auto-immune disease, lupus. Even while in pain she soldiered on--even studying with her head on her pillow. This morning she got her grades--despite it all, she was TOP OF HER CLASS AGAIN! 4.88 GPA!

Yay! Time for Tuku! These fruit grow on the special palms in and around our school and the kids absolutely love being able to freely enjoy them any break!

One of the coolest things about starting the new school year, is welcoming our new students from the remote Ik community in the mountains and our dear new refugee students from the camps.

We are very excited, humbled and proud of our grade 7 class who made us top in the District again! 🙏🏽🙌🏽💖🎶💃🏿🕺🏿
