Our Story.
HANDLE Uganda is a local grassroots NGO started in 2009 and based in Gulu, northern Uganda. We operate in a post-conflict setting with the aim of helping to promote the empowerment of local community members to help them to realize their potential and become active agents in shaping their futures and the sustainable development of their communities.
HANDLE supports vulnerable populations, including children, youth, and women, who have been impacted by the effects of the drawn out conflict that ravaged their communities for two decades. We work hand-in-hand with our beneficiaries to help them to rebuild their lives, empowering them through education and economic livelihood training, as well as working throughout the community to advocate for and promote human rights.
Our main goal is to transform lives through empowerment to rehabilitate and lift communities up so that its members can enjoy their full rights to lead a dignified and happy life.
