Today, we celebrate our beloved motherland, Uganda—a nation rich in potential, strengthened by resilience, and united by hope. ❤️💛🖤

As we cherish our national freedom, let us also remember the freedom we have in Christ, for “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free” (Galatians 5:1).

Our love for Uganda must go beyond celebration; it must inspire responsibility and action. Together, let us build a nation where every child is protected, every family is empowered, and every community has the opportunity to thrive. Let us contribute our gifts, serve one another with compassion, and work towards a safer, healthier, more just, and prosperous Uganda.

Growing to Build a More Sustainable Future

At Friends of Children Circle (FOCC) Uganda, we believe that creating lasting impact requires continuous learning, innovation, and strong leadership.

Last month, our Executive Director participated in a Social Entrepreneurship training organized by Latek Stay Alliance Uganda for Executive Directors of partner organizations. The training challenged us to think beyond responding to immediate needs and to explore sustainable approaches that can strengthen our mission and empower the communities we serve.

Last week, our Executive Director had the additional privilege of participating in a governance-focused Social Entrepreneurship training as a member of the Latek Board of Directors. This provided a valuable opportunity to deepen the understanding of social entrepreneurship from both an organizational leadership and governance perspective.

These two experiences have reaffirmed a direction that FOCC has been prayerfully exploring: building sustainable social enterprise initiatives that complement our community programs and help ensure long-term impact for vulnerable children and families.

As we look to the future, we remain committed to learning, growing, and trusting God to guide every step we take.

We are grateful to Latek for investing in strengthening leadership and governance, and we look forward to translating these lessons into meaningful and sustainable impact within our communities.

Please keep FOCC in your prayers as we embark on this exciting new chapter.

Every Child Deserves to Return Home Safely. 💔🕊️

We at Friends of Children Circle (FOCC) Uganda are deeply saddened by the recent road accidents that have claimed the lives of so many, including innocent children on school trips. Our hearts go out to every family, school, and community mourning these precious lives. We pray that God grants them comfort, strength, and peace during this painful time.

These tragedies remind us that protecting children is a shared responsibility. As a nation, let us unite in prayer for God’s protection over our children, our roads, and everyone entrusted with their care.

We also call for practical action:

Thorough inspection and maintenance of all school buses before every journey.

Strict enforcement of road safety standards and vehicle fitness.

Well-trained, responsible, and adequately rested drivers.

Stronger emergency response systems to ensure that when accidents happen, lives can be saved through timely rescue and medical care.

Educational tours are an important part of a child’s learning and development. Rather than ending them, let us make them safer through better planning, preparation, and accountability.

Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, explore, and most importantly, return home safely.

Let us continue to pray, advocate, and act for a Uganda where every child’s life is valued and protected.

Anyadwe wants to be a nurse so she can treat and take care of people in need. She is very calm, respectful and focused. We are very proud of the decision we made years back. There are moments that leave you speechless… this is one of them. 🥹❤️

Watching these children from the day we first met them in 2019 to who they are today filled my eyes with tears. Not tears of sadness, but of gratitude. Because this is what love, consistency, and opportunity can do.

Every smile, every confident face, every step they’ve taken in school is a reminder that one person choosing to care can completely change the course of a child’s life.

To every sponsor who has walked this journey with us, thank you. You have done more than pay school fees—you have restored hope, protected dreams, and given these children a chance to become all God created them to be.

Today, we find ourselves at another turning point.

Some of these precious children still need someone to believe in them and help them continue their education. We are looking for kind hearts willing to become that hand that lifts a child forward.

Perhaps that person is you.

Your “yes” today could be the reason another child looks back years from now with the same beautiful testimony.

🌍 DAY OF THE AFRICAN CHILD 2026 🌍

Today, we stood with the children of Gulu District to celebrate their dreams, amplify their voices, and affirm their right to a healthy, safe, and dignified future.

This year's commemoration reminded us that access to clean water, proper sanitation, and good hygiene is not a privilege—it is a right. Every child deserves to learn in an environment where safe water is available, handwashing facilities are accessible, and sanitation promotes health and dignity.

The smiles, songs, dances, poems, and powerful messages shared by the children today were a testament to their resilience, creativity, and limitless potential.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the District Local Government, development partners, schools, community leaders, volunteers, and every individual who contributed their time, resources, and expertise to make this event a success. Your support transformed a vision into a memorable reality for hundreds of children.

As we celebrate, we also renew our commitment to advocating for the rights and well-being of every child. The future of Africa is being shaped in our classrooms, communities, and homes today.
