To achieve the goal of ensuring equal access to justice for all, we must: place justice at the center of sustainable development, prioritize persons in judicial systems, and change from justice for the few to justice for all. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is based on a vision of a future that is fair, egalitarian, tolerant, open, and socially inclusive, with the most vulnerable people's needs met. SDG16.3 aims to ensure equitable access to justice for all by 2030. The conference of national, regional, and international renowned scholars, lawyers, practitioners, governments, CSOs, private sector, Customary and Informal Justice institutions/Actors discusses the commitments of linking customary/informal and formal justice redress mechanisms to enhance a common voice and synergy, with the goal of joint advocacy for regional and national level commitments to improving access to justice for the poor and most vulnerable people. Theme "Strengthening linkages between Informal and Formal Justice Systems: Rethinking Policy and Practice in amplifying access to justice for all”. Northern Uganda Transparency and Accountability Forum. September 24-25, 2024, at the Speke Resort and Conference Center in Munyonyo, Kampala.

Traditional top-down techniques' efficacy has been called into question due to their frequent misalignment with community reality. Such approaches, while well-intentioned, frequently neglect critical local inputs and fail to engage the people they seek to serve, resulting in underutilized efforts and depleted resources without meaningful impact. Recognizing this essential gap, there is a strong strategic imperative to shift toward more inclusive approaches, ensuring that development is done not just for the community, but also with the community. Given this, the East Africa Philanthropy Network, in collaboration with the Philanthropy Forum of Uganda, convenes a significant forum for key organizations in the country themed "Strategies for Community Mobilization through Participatory Approaches and Local Advocacy." Northern Uganda Transparency and Accountability Forum. August 29, 2024, at the Protea Hotel in Kampala.

Massive deforestation in northern Uganda exemplifies the climate catastrophe. Charcoal burning, timber transactions, and wetland encroachments, among other things, destroy landscapes across the country. Climate change is having a substantial influence on Uganda, including altering weather patterns, lower water levels, and an increase in the frequency of extreme weather events such as floods and drought, all of which have social and economic consequences that put communities at risk. Northern Uganda Transparency and Accountability Forum (NUTAFO) and Climate Action Network Uganda (CAN-U), along with other Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in the country, are rallying to design and implement effective climate change policies and practices at the local, national, and global levels. Two days engagement Wednesday, July 17, and Thursday, July 18, 2024, at the Grand Imperial Hotel in Kampala.
