Innovations for Transformation Initiative (ITI) We're a Non Profit working to conserve the environment. Ensure youth and poor households are self-reliant and work towards sustenance of natural resources

Innovations for Transformation Initiative (ITI) is a registered Community Based Non-Governmental Organization and Company Limited by Guarantee operating in Central and Western Uganda. The birth of ITI in 2007 resulted from the need to empower disadvantaged young people and poor households living near water bodies, natural forests, national parks, game reserves and other protected areas by boosting

their economic capacity and living conditions through access to basic education, health care and alternative sources of income for sustainable livelihoods. Our ultimate aim is to conserve biodiversity and ensure environmental sustainability, and households living around protected areas are self-sufficient and have access to basic services and infrastructure. Vision
We envisage “a healthy community of hope and social justice where HIV/AIDS and poverty have been overcome and young people live in dignity and work towards self-reliance and sustenance of natural resources”. Our hope is to bridge the gap between the young and old, marginalized and the privileged, the haves and the have-not, the sick and the healthy, the harassed and the favoured, the rich and the poor through enhancing social justice, gender parity, social inclusion and participation of minority groups, promoting exchange of information and best practices through training, research, education and strategic partnerships.

The U.S. government, The U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through 🇺🇸 CDC, is partnering with Ministry of Health- Uganda & Makerere University School of Public Health to conduct the 3rd 🇺🇬 Population-Based HIV Impact Assessment. By reaching a nationally representative sample of ~15,000 people from all regions, it will provide important data on the progress & impact of national HIV response efforts to guide future interventions & close existing gaps, making Uganda and America safer by ending HIV as a public health threat.
