Wake up Ugandan Children's Foundation

Wake up Ugandan Children's Foundation An organization based in Entebbe-Kigungu, Uganda. P.O.Box 664 EBB, Uganda. If fortunate, there are still relatives like grandmas who will take care of the child.

Our target is to empowering vulnerable children and orphans (VOCs) to achieve a better life and future like any other child. In Uganda\Africa, many children are without parents because a variety of reasons:
for instance AIDS and other diseases which let the parents pass away early or poverty that makes them run away and leave their children behind. Still, poverty makes everyone struggle hard for l

ife so that most of the times, a proper school education or even clothes are impossible to be provided. This is why WUO was formed to help our kids having a better life and a chance for a brighter future through education. We started small, through the help of our friends in Europe and Asia. Thanks to them, we could pay school fees, buy school books, clothes, shoes, medicine in case of sickness etc. Nevertheless, our plan was to expand so that more children can be helped. The situation is urgent for many as weekly and sometimes daily, relatives come to us and ask for support in a desperate situation. We also wanted to provide a place for our kids where they can go for doing their homework or enjoying each other!
____
WUO is now a place where children - both supported and not supported by WUO in their school education- can come to meet and get moral support at our "Kalina Sanyu-House". We currently send 24 children from different backgrounds and situations to surrounding schools. Furthermore, we have established football trainings for the children of our village on weekends. Nevertheless, we strive for more. Our goal is to offer different activities in arts and sports in order to teach our youth how to work together and become creative. We want to promote a sustainable livelihood in both equal respect and mutual appreciation of each other. In order to establish a flourishing society with motivated youths. We appreciate all your efforts and support! A big thank you to the sponsors, who are already helping! Please feel free to send us a message if you are interested in what we are doing! Be blessed! yours,
Ayazika Mozzy and the team for WUOA

It was a chilly night in Jinja, the kind that wraps around you like a damp cloth. I found myself standing in the shadows of a bustling street, surrounded by the night's silence. That's when I saw them - a group of young faces, lit only by the faint glow of a streetlamp. Street kids, living life on their terms, yet, in many ways, trapped in circumstances beyond their control.

As I watched, one of them, a tiny figure no older than ten, started dancing to an unheard tune. Others joined in, their laughter echoing in the night. My heart skipped a beat. Without thinking, I stepped forward, joining their rhythm. We danced together under Jinja's stars, our shadows swaying to the beat of resilience.

In that moment, they weren't street kids; they were children, yearning for joy, love, and a sense of belonging. And I was just another human, grateful to remind them they are seen, loved, and valued.

One of them, a young boy with a missing tooth, smiled up at me and said, "You're like us, dancing in the night." I smiled back, tears pricking my eyes. "No, I'm like you - a human, dancing to life."

That night, I realized that sometimes, all someone needs is someone to show up, dance with them, and remind them of their worth. 💔
