Started on December 12, 2023, Go Cultural! Initiative has had its ups and downs. We have worked tirelessly to establish it on a firm foundation; polishing it's mission and redesigning it's strategy.

And after fourteen weeks of hardwork, we officially set forth on track again. Go Cultural! is a project aimed at utilising Uganda's Cultural Wealth and Heritage for impactful Youth empowerment. Our transparent approach ensures engaging Ugandan Youth in local Culture & heritage to amplify their economic well-being in fields of crafts, media, events and entrepreneurship.

We also aim at showcasing Uganda's Cultural beauty through various media.

We envision a Uganda where every Youth has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their background.

Greetings from Mukuuba...πŸ™‚
a fishing village located on the shores of Lake Victoria, the largest freshwater lake in Africa. We've teamed up with the local community to address their most urgent problem: the lack of proper fishing equipment, which is also recognized as a priority by the Ugandan Government.

Through our newly developed Community-Based Tourism (CBT) product, along with our annual solidarity trips and partnerships, our goal is to provide the community with standard fishing equipment, including boats and nets. This initiative also aims to improve the lives of the local residents and safeguard the lake and its marine life from environmental harm.

We're thrilled to announce the start of our maiden project - Yange Communities Initiative [YCI] today. We have been working on the establishment of this project for the last 377 days.

Through this project, Yange Africa aims to empower grassroots communities in Uganda through Cultural Tourism. By identifying and developing these communities' cultural resources into CBT packages in collaboration with the community locals, and distributing them to the tourism market, the project seeks to create a sustainable and mutually beneficial relationship between tourists and the community locals, thus driving Positive Impact to these communities.

The goal of this project is to:

1. Create sustainable livelihoods for local community members through tourism.

2. Preserve the environment and cultural heritage of these communities.

This project has the potential to make a significant positive impact on the Ugandan grassroots communities. By empowering them through Cultural Tourism, the project is to create sustainable livelihoods, preserve the environment, and promote & preserve Uganda's cultural heritage.

In Uganda, events aren't just gatherings; they're the very soul of our culture. They bring us together under the warm embrace of our shared heritage, forging connections that transcend time and place.

As you watch this footage, let your senses transport you to a world where every note of music, every colorful garment, and every joyful face tells a story of unity and celebration. You'll notice it in this footage: the smiles that radiate from the heart, the laughter that dances in the air, and the happiness that paints the town.

This is the Uganda we cherish, and this is the spirit we proudly share with the world. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¬β€οΈπŸŽ‰

Spear throwing is a skill that is learned from a young age. Maasai boys start practicing spear throwing as soon as they are old enough to hold a spear. They practice by throwing the spear at targets, such as trees or rocks.

The Maasai people of East Africa consider their war spear a symbol of power and strength. The spear is one of the most distinctive in the world. It has a long, narrow blade, short wooden handle, and heavy butt spike. The spear is used for hunting, defense, and warfare.

Spear throwing is also an important part of Maasai initiation ceremonies. When a boy becomes a man, he must undergo a series of tests, including spear throwing.

Today, spear throwing is still an important part of Maasai culture, although it is not used as often for hunting or warfare. However, it is still a popular sport and a way for the Maasai to preserve their traditional culture.

For such spear throwing experiences, contact Original Maasai Lodge in Tanzania.
