Journalists Role in reducing unsafe abortions.
We commemorated International Safe Abortion Day hosting a social evening with journalists to appreciate their contribution to creating informed, stigma-free conversations around abortion and Sexual Reproductive Health and rights.

Through their stories, questions, reporting and platforms, journalists play a powerful role in ensuring that people have access to accurate, evidence-based information about their reproductive health and rights and their available options.

From challenging myths and stigma to amplifying the voices and experiences of communities, responsible journalism can help people make informed decisions and know where to seek appropriate care.

We celebrated the journalists who continue to use the power of storytelling to inform, challenge harmful narratives and contribute to reducing unsafe abortions in our communities.

A contraceptive mishap doesn’t have to become a life-changing surprise.

A condom broke?
Forgot your pills?
Had unprotected s*x?

Emergency contraception can help prevent pregnancy after unprotected s*x or contraceptive failure.

Don’t let shame delay you.

There is more than one way to prevent unwanted pregnancy.
Pills.
Condoms.
Injectables.
Implants.
IUDs.
Emergency contraception.
And more.
The “best” method is not necessarily the most popular one.

It is the method that is safe for you, acceptable to you, accessible to you and fits your life.

Recently, we held a Musawo session in Nakiwogo landing site reaching women with information on s*xual and reproductive health.

One thing stood out: the conversation kept returning to men. Women were clear that preventing unwanted pregnancies cannot be women’s work alone — men need to be at the table, informed and involved when it comes to family planning.

SRHR should be a shared responsibility.

We participated in the Uganda RMNCAH+N CSO Platform Annual General Meeting (AGM), a space that brings together government, civil society, and development partners to take stock of where we are and chart the path forward.

Among those present were representatives from the Ministry of Health (Uganda) PHEOC , United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) , World Vision, Embassy of Sweden in Uganda, Marie Stopes Uganda , Faith for Family Health initiative (3FHi).

One of the standout moments was the election of new platform leadership and realignment of key priorities for 2026, a step toward more coordinated, accountable, and collective action within the RMNCAH+N space.

The conversations reinforced that real change happens at the community level. Strengthening accountability systems, investing in data, and closing the gaps in access and quality of care must remain at the center of our collective effort.
