This group came up to support both children and the youth. It was started by ssentongo john petreeve then later other members who also passed through hard situations joined this project to extend a helping hand to the helpless children and also the yout
h. This group currently involves five members. These members made a survey in the central regions of .Bukomansimbi District Masaka Uganda. During this survey they found out that over 100 younger children who have problem of poor healthy due lack of medical services, poor feeding which caused malnutrition in their health , lack of clothing materials, and education services. Still on the survey, we found out that out 150 youth dropouts from school and also great percentages never had a chance of going to school not because they never wanted to go to school but because of no support. That is why I came with an idea as a child who was once raised in the same situation and my pray was if God could give me a chance to help such needy children and the youth who cannot support themselves to achieve their future goals. We thought in the near future, the life of these children without help will become miserable forcing them to be on streets calling for help. Many youth got involved in smoking, drinking alcohol, playing card and getting into love at the early stage hence extracting diseases like HIV AIDS infecting the young ongoing children in the community leaving most of them orphans and helpless. Failure to make a bright future among the youth forces them to became deserters thus they became a threat in the region
Other youth grow up in this difficult situation, they are forced to go for early marriages and later give birth to children whom they will not be able to give services hence these children also face hard life
AIMS OF STARTING CHILDREN AND YOUTH SUPPORTING PROJECT BUKOMANSIMBI. CHILDREN:
1. To help children achieve better education.
2. To provide medical health facilities for their proper growth.
3. To provide them with shelter, clothing, feeding and playing materials.
4. To help them to identify their natural talents through singing, dancing, playing football, netball, volleyball, basket ball, tennis and other game.
5. To build them to be God fearing citizens
6. To guide them to be useful youth in the society and the nation at large.
7. To prepare them to get better job which can help them support their families. B.YOUTH:
1. To train youth with practical skill such as tailoring, carpentry, building, (cosmetology) hair braiding, styling, massage, pedicure and manicure, computer and phone repaire,art and craft designing, welding, weaving and, photography etc
2. To help the youth not to be job seekers but be job creators.
3. To teach them with the hope of helping other people who were once like them.
4. To help them have a dream for their future instead of having no hope at all.
5. To reduce on the risk on unnecessary pregnancy among the youth which can cause death in abortion and failure giving birth?
6. To them explore their talent in a free and professional way. EDUCATION:
There are many non-educated children in Bukomansimbi District, they are not educated because they don’t like to, just because they never had the opportunity to go school. And they wish more and more to go to school to make themselves a better future for tomorrow. There are also many school dropouts/half educated children and youth not just because they wanted to drop out, but because there was insufficient support for them to complete their studies, therefore no where they can get employed without a complete study. CAYS-projects as wish to extend free vocational education in this region to help youth children dropouts and those who never had education. This vocational institute can also help to children and the youth to acquire practical skills in different courses such as, farming course, tailoring course, cosmetology course (hair braiding and beauty care), carpentry course, machinery course, music dance and drummer, computer and phone repair, still and moving photography tutoring, Art and craft designing (western and African designs) computer tutoring, etc
HEALTH/MEDICAL SERVICES
Many children suffer from diseases such as malaria, yellow fever, tuberculosis, Brucellosis fever, typhoid caused by not sleeping under mosquito nets, drinking dirty water, poor balanced diet these diseases weaken their body immune hence interfering their education and even causing death to some of them. A healthy child is capable of studying hard and has big to plan to achieve his/ her future goals. CAYS-project wishes to extend free healthy/ medical services to the needy children and the youth. Here its needs a project nurse who can treat the sick members and also needs the medicine and medical equipments. CLOTHINGS
Many children in this region wear torn clothes this is because they have nobody to buy for them besides most of them are orphans and this makes to be uncomfortable in the society. CAYS-project has a plan to help them come away from such problems. NUTRITIOUS FEEDING
Healthy body gives a healthy brain. CAYS- project has come with plan of starting a project farm garden to support the situation to produce verity of food stuffs to help to solve the problem of poor feeding. Therefore, the is need of land. CAYS-project is a dream scheme which started with the aims to render support to the children and the youth in Bukomansimbi villages.However, we are facing a lot of challenges in taking care of this miserable citizen of the nation because we have nowhere to put them though we tried to bring under one tent and shelter where they can have education and so day by day the situation is worsening. So to help the children and the youth we land, building for studies, building home for these children and the youth, land for farming, clean water source, playing ground, balls, power source, instructional materials like books, pens, bags, textbooks, computers, sitting and writing benches, writing blackboards, shoes, clothing’s, school uniforms, mattresses, bed sheets, beds, sleeping nets, school nurse, professional teachers. For the youth we need buildings for studies, building homes for the youth, study uniforms, tailoring machines, mechanical equipments/ tools, computers, computer and phone repairing tools, building tools, farming tools, cosmetology requirements and tools, carpentry tools, art and craft materials.
