Today, participants in our Social Enterprise and Innovation Program (SEIP) took a practical deep dive into Budget Development—a critical skill for turning innovative ideas into sustainable and impactful enterprises.

The session equipped participants with the knowledge to:

✅ Develop realistic and practical budgets

✅ Estimate startup and operational costs

✅ Allocate resources effectively

✅ Plan for financial sustainability

✅ Make informed financial decisions that support business growth and social impact

A great idea alone is not enough—every successful social enterprise needs a well-planned budget to transform vision into reality. By strengthening their financial planning skills, our participants are becoming better prepared to launch and manage enterprises that create lasting change in their communities.

Our Social Enterprise and Innovation Program (SEIP) is designed to combine classroom learning with practical, real-world experience. Alongside trainer-led sessions, participants attend Master Classes facilitated by successful social entrepreneurs who share valuable insights, lessons, and proven strategies for building sustainable businesses. Yesterday, participants took part in a hands-on master class on bar soap production, where they gained practical skills and learned how locally available resources can be transformed into viable business opportunities. By integrating theory with practical application and mentorship, SEIP is equipping rural youth and women with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to build innovative social enterprises that create lasting community impact.

This week (2nd – 6th March 2026), ADEGCO is proud to host a delegation of seven civil society organizations from Gulu District in Northern Uganda. These organizations are members of the Movement for Community-Led Development Uganda (MCLD Uganda), a national coalition championing community-led development approaches across the country. ADEGCO has been an active member of this network since 2024.

The delegation is undertaking an experiential learning visit to gain deeper insight into ADEGCO’s programs, operational model, and the impact of our work in empowering vulnerable children, youth, and women through education, skills development, and climate action.

The visit will culminate on Friday, 6th March, with a full-day engagement at the ADEGCO Conference Hall, bringing together over 20 MCLD member organizations from the Eastern Region. This convening will provide a platform for shared learning, peer exchange, collaboration, and strengthening collective efforts toward sustainable community transformation.

We are honored to facilitate this important exchange and look forward to building stronger partnerships that advance locally-led solutions for lasting impact.
