Coalition for Human Rights Education(cohre) Human rights education COHRE is an NGO formed as a result of upsetting failures in Human rights matters across the country Uganda.

Police brutality, minority suppression and general exploitation of individuals in name of ignorance brought us together to form COHRE (coalition for human rights education)
In 2012 alone lots of violations like use of tear gas by security personnel on demonstrations during a walk to work protest , Opposition leaders’ arrest and violently abusing the well being of these individuals not caring

for the civilians who get hurt and lose life as a result. Members of police force openly beating civilians are endless. Stripping naked publicly by mere suspecting any one of wrong doing , burning of homes and people suspected of having caused misfortune according to superstitious attitudes, stripping naked girls by men who claim they have to pay expenses on them through sexual favours. The Bill that seeks to imprison one for life on suspicion of being a homosexual and suggesting life imprisonment of any individual not reporting a homosexual. All these happenings seen as another event happening and pushed under carpet .The endless list of violation of human rights, yet most people think it’s a matter to laugh about, makes society very unsafe to live in. .

Everyday is a day to walk that road to grow, to learn,and to survive.The question is what have you done to revive your neighbors life, to share a smile to create an avenue for peaceful co-existence.Or are you just the hater,the wrecker and the selfish! Think again there is no amount of hate that can build a heart, mend bridges, shine the light.Hate is dark, evil and dangerously insane. Wipe that heart ,hold your neighbors hand and smiles will shine your way and your world.

Dear Joan I know you are with the Angels You dedicated your all for humanity .You have been a glory to woman kind and more so marginalized and vulnerable women your sudden passing has hit us hard. COHRE will forever be grateful to your shared experiences and knowledge.we shall forever miss you. But your contribution will live on and I believe you will keep looking over those you sought out to support and deliver .
