Every child has a story worth telling. Sometimes, all they need is the confidence to share it.

This week, through our Kelele Literary Project we spent time with the incredible learners of St. Athanasius Primary School exploring reading, poetry, public speaking, and creative expression.

The classroom came alive with imagination, curiosity, and brave young voices discovering that their words matter.

At Upshift Youth, we believe literacy is more than learning to read. It is about building confidence, unlocking potential, and giving children the tools to shape their own future.

Last week, we had the privilege of meeting with the leadership of St. Athanasius Primary School in Kisenyi as we laid the foundation for an exciting new partnership.

we will be implementing the Kelele Literary Project, a creative literacy program designed to help children discover the joy of reading, writing, storytelling, poetry, and self-expression.

Every child has a voice worth hearing. Through books, creativity, and mentorship, we want to help these young learners build confidence, strengthen literacy skills, and believe in the power of their own stories.

We are grateful to the school administration for welcoming this vision and look forward to creating a space where children can learn, imagine, and thrive together.

This is just the beginning.
