As schools prepare to close, our center is gearing up to make this holiday season meaningful for children in our community! From December to February, we will be running our Holiday Program keeping children learning, playing, creating, and growing through fun and educational activities like sports, creative arts, and mentorship sessions.
But we can’t do it alone. ❤️
Throughout November, we are fundraising $3,000 to make this possible. Your support will help us:

📚 Provide books and scholastic materials for children as they return to school

🎨 Facilitate creative and sports activities

🍲 Run our daily food program to keep children nourished and energized

Every contribution big or small brings us closer to keeping our children safe, engaged, and prepared for a brighter school year ahead.

The Big School Holiday is Here!
As the holidays begin, many children in our community are excited but this means long days without structured activities brings boredom, missed learning, or even unsafe environments and exposure to unhealthy activities.
At our center, we want to change that.

This holiday, we are creating a safe, joyful space where children can play, learn, acess to games and sports, dance and creative arts.

To make this possible, we need your support. 🙏�
Your donation will help us:�
🎽 Buy sportswear and equipment like skipping ropes, balls, board games like scrabble. �
🍛 Run our weekend food program so no child goes hungry�
🎨 Provide materials for creative and therapeutic activities

At UpShift Youth Empowerment Initiative, we are continuously seeking ways to make our programs more impactful and reach more children meaningfully.
Recently, we had the incredible opportunity to participate In the Lit Camp organized by Art of a Child, an organization dedicated to empowering children through literacy and creative expression.

This two-day camp gave us valuable insights and hands-on experience that will help us strengthen our own programs ensuring that we continue to inspire, educate, and uplift the children we serve.

We are grateful for the partnership and look forward to more collaborations that help us grow together in building a brighter, more empowered generation. 🌟

We believe that true change begins when young people are empowered to dream, learn, and lead. Our work focuses on the holistic development of underserved and marginalised children and youth in rural communities across Uganda.

we provide coordinated programs in education, economic empowerment, public health, climate action, and creative arts — equipping young people with the skills and confidence to transform their lives and communities.

What started as a small weekend dance group has grown into a movement nurturing creativity, leadership, and resilience. Each weekend, children and youth come together to dance, learn, and express themselves — turning passion into purpose and purpose into opportunity.

We are proud to be planting seeds of hope today that will grow into forests of opportunity tomorrow.

We welcome collaborations, partnerships, and support from individuals and organizations who share our vision of empowering the next generation to rise beyond limitations and lead sustainable change.

At USYEI Centre, our children remind us every day what resilience looks like through laughter, movement, and play that’s more than just fun… it’s therapy, it’s hope, it’s learning.

But behind every joyful moment, there’s a reality we can’t ignore, these children need more than love. They need access to education, therapy support, and a community that refuses to look away.

Today, as I spent time with these amazing children during our art therapy and learning session, I was reminded of something powerful — every child has limitless potential, but not every child has equal access to quality education. 💔

Through creativity, play, and learning, we’re not just painting pictures — we’re healing hearts, building confidence, and sparking dreams. These children deserve more than survival; they deserve the tools to thrive. 🌍✨
