We work tirelessly providing education, essential medical care and a nurturing environment for children with disabilities. As a result of our extensive familiarity with the difficulties and challenges faced by children and young people with disabilities in Uganda, we at space uganda are committed to helping them live their lives as equals in society and as productive individuals.

Every day, parents, grandparents, siblings, and guardians wake up with one goal, to give the children they love the care, encouragement, and opportunities they deserve.

Their journey is not always easy. Many face financial hardship, stigma, exhaustion, and uncertainty. Yet they continue to show up with remarkable strength and love.

Caring for a child with a disability comes with unique joys and challenges. In many communities across Uganda, families often face limited access to healthcare, financial hardship, and stigma that can make an already difficult journey even harder.

Yet every day, parents and caregivers continue to show extraordinary love, resilience, and determination.

At SPACE Uganda, we believe these families should never have to walk this journey alone. They deserve understanding, support, and communities that embrace every child with dignity and respect.

As we begin this week, let's remember that belonging is one of the greatest gifts we can give a child.

Every child deserves to feel welcomed at school, accepted in their community, included in play, and loved within their family.

For many children with disabilities, belonging is still something they have to fight for.

At SPACE Uganda, we believe that true inclusion begins when every child is seen, valued, and allowed to participate fully in community life.

This week, let's choose kindness over judgement, acceptance over stigma, and inclusion over exclusion.

Because when every child belongs, every community grows stronger.

A new month brings new opportunities to make a difference, new reasons to hope, and new chances to stand together for children with disabilities.

As we begin this month, our commitment remains the same: to walk alongside children and their families, promote inclusion, and help build communities where every child is valued, respected, and given the opportunity to thrive.

Sometimes, the biggest changes begin with the smallest acts of kindness.

A home visit.

A parent who no longer feels alone.

These moments may seem small, but together they transform lives.

At SPACE Uganda, we have the privilege of walking alongside children with disabilities and their families as they overcome challenges and discover new possibilities. Every step forward reminds us that lasting change is built through compassion, partnership, and hope.

Every Child has rights.

To go to school.
To receive medication when they are sick.
To play, laugh, and make friends.
To be safe from abuse and neglect.
To be accepted in their community.
To dream about their future.

For many of us, these are everyday experiences that we rarely stop to think about.

But for many children with disabilities, these rights remain out of reach because of stigma, poverty, discrimination, and limited access to essential services.

At SPACE Uganda, we believe every child deserves more than survival, they deserve the opportunity to grow, learn, belong, and live with dignity.

Let's stand together to build communities where every child is valued, included, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Every child has a story. And every story deserves to be heard.

Behind a child with a disability is often a family doing everything they can to provide love, care, and a better future.

There are mothers who keep going despite enormous challenges.

There are fathers and caregivers trying to find solutions with very limited resources.

There are children who simply want what every child wants that is to learn, play, make friends, be loved, and dream about their future.

At SPACE Uganda, we believe these children and families should never have to face their journey alone.

We walk alongside them, listening, connecting families to support, opening opportunities, and reminding them that their lives matter and their dreams matter.

Because sometimes change begins with something as simple as saying;

We hear you
You are not alone

Physiotherapy isn't the only therapy that matters.

Many people think children with special needs only need physiotherapy, but that's just one piece of the puzzle.

* Occupational therapy helps children develop everyday skills like feeding, dressing, playing, holding toys, and becoming more independent.

* Speech therapy isn't only about talking. It can also help with communication, understanding, eating, drinking, and swallowing.

* Physiotherapy focuses on improving movement, strength, balance, posture, and mobility.

Every child has unique needs, and when these therapies work together, they can make a meaningful difference in a child's development.

To every parent on this journey: keep showing up. Every therapy session is an investment in your child's future, and every small milestone is worth celebrating.
