Today, on the , we unite under the theme "Fostering disability-inclusive societies for advancing social progress"

At SPACE Uganda, we believe that true social progress only happens when children with disabilities in villages are no longer hidden, but seen, valued, and thriving.

We are building that inclusive society every single day through;
1. Giving children physiotherapy, wheelchairs, and the chance to go to school.
2. Training mothers in tailoring, beekeeping, and poultry so families can eat and pay fees.
3. Turning villages that once whispered "curse" into communities that say "this child is ours"

Inclusion isn't a favour
It is the foundation of a stronger, fairer Uganda

Today we celebrate every child who walked into a classroom for the very first time, every parent who started a business, and every neighbor who chose acceptance over stigma.

And we invite you to keep building with us.
Because when one child with a disability rises, the whole community rises.

Let's make inclusion the new normal - starting right here in Buikwe district.

At SPACE Uganda, we don't have to wait for families to find us, we go to them. Through regular home visits, we reach children with disabilities in the comfort of their homes, offering physiotherapy, support, and encouragement to their families.

In places where services are far and stigma runs deep, a knock at the door can mean hope, healing, and connection.

We believe every child deserves to be seen, supported, and included from right where they are.

When you get involved with our work at SPACE Uganda, you are breaking down the walls of stigma and exclusion for children with disabilities in the rural communities of Buikwe district.

At SPACE Uganda, we believe every child with a disability needs love 💖, care, and support not just from their family, but from the whole community.

We call this our community village where :

1. we support parents and caregivers
2. We work with teachers and schools
3. We involve health workers
4. We fight stigma in every corner of the community.

Together, we help children with disabilities grow up feeling accepted, safe and included. Because when the whole village stands together, children can thrive.
