UECO UPDATE ON BEES
1st June 2026

Greetings, everyone.

We are here to fulfil our promise from our previous update, which can be found here:

As mentioned in that post, Mr. Simon Evans supported us with an additional beehive on 30th April 2026, which we installed on 6th May 2026. As you can see in the video, we were providing him with an update on the progress at our apiary.

We are pleased to report that our apiary continues to grow, and we are seeing more hives being colonized by bees. This is a very encouraging sign for the future of the project.

We also have more good news. Mr. Simon has once again supported us with two additional beehives, which you will see in our upcoming updates.

We thank Mr. Simon, for his continued support and thank all of you for your interest in our work.

Have a blessed day.

UECO UPDATE ON BANANAS AT OUR FARM
25th May 2026

As many of you may be aware, UECO has a demonstration farm under our “Conservation Beyond Parks” project. At our farm, we grow and manage several activities including dragon fruits, bananas, lemongrass, apples, bees, and trees, as seen in the video clip.

Today, we are specifically sharing an update about our bananas.

In February 2025 and the following months, we planted over 70 banana plants at our farm as a trial before large-scale planting. The bananas have now matured, and some are already yielding.

However, the results have not fully turned out as we expected. The yields are still low, and some plants became stunted and started drying up. This has been a learning experience for us, and we are working on better solutions to improve production.

Everything you see here is purely organic. We have used organic fertilizers throughout the project, and we continue to advocate for sustainable and organic farming practices.

Our vision is to transform this place into a learning center for sustainable farming, where people can visit and learn different farming practices in the future.

We are UECO, and we care about the planet. We do this with support from like-minded individuals such as Mr. Simon.

Would you also like to support our projects?

• Support our Apiary Project by purchasing a beehive at £30. We currently have 10 beehives.
• Support our Environmental Awareness and Tree Planting Project. For every £1, we plant two trees.

So far, we have:
• Visited over 20 schools
• Educated more than 3,000 people
• Planted over 2,000 trees

Thank you all for the continued support. Keep following us for more updates on our projects, including the trees we planted in schools over previous years.

Be blessed.

These are some of the trees we planted at Nyenga Girls Primary School in February 2024. Look at them now, growing and thriving beautifully.

Trees = Life. Plant one today.

From our recent update on bees, we mentioned the attacks our colonized hives experienced, which led to the bees leaving those hives. The pests disturbed three hives that had already been colonized.

Can anyone identify these pests, and what control methods or solutions would you recommend?

As promised from our recent update on bees, here is our newly colonized beehive, funded by Mr. Simon. We’re seeing a strong colony here and hoping other hives get colonized too.

UECO UPDATE ON BEES.
7th. May. 2026

Greetings all, we hope you're doing well. Here is our quick update on bees.

Following the two hives that Mr. Simon supported on 28th February 2026, he added one more beehive to our apiary on 11th April 2026, which we installed on 18th April 2026, as you can see in the video.

We have seen an increase in the bee population at our apiary, especially in the old beehives that have been colonized, and we are hoping to see more hives getting colonized. Of course, one of the recently purchased Simon Evans beehives has already been colonized, as you will see in the next video.

Not only have we received good news, but we have also experienced some setbacks at our apiary due to pest attacks. These pests attacked three of the colonized hives and disturbed the colonies, forcing the bees to evacuate those hives. Regardless, we managed to clean up the affected hives and rewax them, and we are now waiting for them to be colonized again. A short video of those pests will also be shared here for learning purposes.

We greatly appreciate Mr. Simon Evans MBA for his continued support, including providing one more hive on 30th April 2026, which you will be seeing in our upcoming updates.

We wish you all well. Stay blessed and stay tuned for our next updates.

UECO Quarterly Update (January – March 2026)
30th. April. 2026

Greetings to you all, we hope you’re doing well. As promised, we are pleased to share our quarterly update highlighting the progress made from January to March 2026 under our Conservation Beyond the Parks initiative.

Over the past three months, we have continued to strengthen our efforts in promoting sustainable agriculture, environmental conservation, and community learning through our demonstration farm.

A key milestone this quarter was the expansion of our apiary project with two new hives. Following our call for support, we were honored to receive additional beehives from Mr. Simon Evans MBA, which were delivered on 4th March 2026 and successfully installed at the apiary on 20th March 2026. This expansion is a significant step to ward's our goal of making our farm a practical learning space for community members interested in beekeeping and sustainable agriculture, helping to build skills and inspire sustainable livelihoods as we promote a healthy ecosystem.

Also during this quarter, our dragon fruit plants, introduced in 2025, continued to grow steadily. We installed support with old motorcycle tires to avoid their fall or bending as dragon fruit grow while bending down. Dragon fruit remains a strategic crop within our project due to its environmental and economic value. Its flowers are highly attractive to bees, directly supporting our beekeeping efforts, while also offering a nutritious and marketable fruit.

Our demonstration farm continues to grow as a center for learning and innovation. Throughout the quarter, we focused on improving the farm’s structure and preparing it to host learners interested in sustainable agriculture practices, including beekeeping and fruit farming.

The farm is steadily evolving into a space where youth and community members can gain hands-on experience, encouraging more people to engage in environmentally friendly agricultural practices.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. Simon Evans for his continued support toward our initiatives.

Stay tuned for more updates
