Inrealizing our objectives, we empower women economically, offer scholarships and educational needs for children The Derick Foundation is a non governmental organization and not political affiliated but operating independently with the help of friends and well wishers. it was started to address the needs of vulnerable children, women and young people( teens and youth)
in realizing our 3 objective
s, we empower women economically to produce products using their locally available resources which they take to market and earn money to better their standards of living in the fight against Poverty. they make liquid and bar soap, African crafts, paper bags and mats, hair dressing and fashion, tents and events. we also offer scholarships and educational needs to primary school going children who are vulnerable like books, blankets, pens and pencils, school uniforms, meals and medication, sanitary pads for the girls and some school fees charged!! we sensitize and create awareness to the teens and youth on the issues of growing up, sexuality, drugs, smart choices in life, faith and morals, and HIV/AIDS, we use a peer to peer approach to disseminate this information and we believe that the young people can freely express themselves to their fellow peers and open up on confidential issues affecting them. the project is currently looking after 93 children and 73 are going to school. we hope to increase as the resources needed shall allow us.
