*Announcement*

It is with heavy hearts that we share an important update about the future of DIDA Sports Organisation CIC.

Despite our best efforts, we have not been able to raise the funding needed to sustainably continue the level of support and services we believe our communities deserve. Without that stability, we can not responsibly continue operations. As a result, we will be closing our work in Budaka, including our office, by the end of January 2026.

This is not a decision we ever imagined having to make. Since 2019, we have built deep and meaningful bonds with our beneficiaries, partners, and local leaders. The young people and families we have worked alongside have inspired us every step of the way, and stepping back from this work feels incredibly painful. We know this news will be disappointing for many, and we share that sadness with you.

While this chapter is coming to an end, we still believe deeply in the mission that brought us together. There is always the possibility that DIDA may evolve or re‑emerge in a different form in the future. For now, we need to pause, reflect, and honour the journey we have taken together.

To everyone who has supported us, through donations, volunteering, encouragement, or simply believing in our work, thank you. Your support has made a real and lasting difference in the lives of the young people we served.

We are profoundly grateful for the community that has grown around DIDA, and we hope you will stay connected as we navigate what comes next.

With gratitude,
DIDA Sports Organisation CIC

📢 Important Announcement: 2025 DIDA Women’s Day Cup Cancellation 💔

With heavy hearts, we must announce that the 2025 DIDA Women’s Day Cup will not be going ahead as planned. Despite our best efforts, we have been unable to secure the necessary funding to deliver the event at the level our girls and communities deserve.

This decision was not made lightly. The DIDA Women’s Day Cup has always been more than just a tournament - it’s a platform for empowerment, education, and change. Seeing young girls thrive through football, gain confidence, and learn about their rights has been our greatest motivation.

But this is not the end. This is a pause - an opportunity to regroup, reassess, and build a stronger fundraising roadmap to ensure that when we return, we do so with greater impact.

To all our supporters, partners, and players: we need you now more than ever. If you believe in our mission, let’s work together to make future tournaments happen.

⚽ We will be back. Stronger. Louder. Bigger. 💙

🌿 Wellness Wednesday with DIDA 🌿

At DIDA, we believe in the power of —"I am because we are." Wellness is not just about the individual; it’s about lifting each other up, sharing knowledge, and building stronger communities. Through sports, chess, and educational experiences, we aim to empower youth in Uganda’s marginalized communities to dream bigger and go further.

This , let’s embrace Ubuntu by:

♟️ Sharpening Our Minds – Play chess, read a book, and keep learning. 📚
🏃‍♂️ Strengthening Our Bodies – Movement fuels well-being.
🤝 Growing Together – True success is built through community.

"If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." — African Proverb

A huge thank you to our and for supporting this journey. Together, we are shaping a future where every child has the opportunity to thrive!

💙 Join the movement. Share your Wellness Wednesday moments and inspire change!

Our growth has brought numerous impactful programmes to life. Over these 6 years, we launched initiatives like:
• Chess in Schools: Empowering students through strategic thinking.
• Grassroots Football: Uniting communities and fostering equality through sports.
• Rabbit Rearing: Hands-on educational experiences initiated during the lockdown.
• Food and Book Clubs: Supporting holistic child development with nutritional meals and literacy.
Each of these programmes has been a stepping stone in our mission to build stronger, inspired youth.
