Mental health and awareness in children is a key pathway to addressing various challenges in the education sector, health sector, and the wider communities in Budaka District. In collaboration with ACT for HOPE, Fremir Youth Initiative Uganda engaged children in a mental health and awareness project centered around the theme of hygiene, which brought children together to discuss the importance of maintaining proper hygiene practices. After the discussions, the children also wrote essays on what they had learned about hygiene, reflecting their understanding and personal insights. Through this initiative, we aimed to foster not only mental well-being but also health consciousness among the youth. We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with ACT for HOPE, whose leadership in this project has been invaluable. This partnership helped create a safe space for children to openly engage in conversations about their mental and physical health. Below are some of the photos from this impactful project.
