From the Pond to Possibility

At Gika Farm, under Elohim Development Association, aquaculture is creating more than food—it is creating opportunities.

Through hands-on African Catfish farming, young people are gaining practical skills in pond management, harvesting and agribusiness while building pathways towards self-reliance.

Every harvest is a reminder that when we invest in skills, we create possibilities for stronger livelihoods and brighter futures.
We grow fish. We grow skills. We grow possibilities.

Literacy isn't just about memorizing letters or reciting the ABCs—it’s about opening doors.

True literacy means giving a child the ability to think critically, communicate with confidence, and navigate the world around them. Through practical reading, writing, and hands-on guidance, we help young minds turn simple words into lifelong tools.

From understanding stories to putting their own thoughts onto paper, real learning happens when kids get to practice every day.

Today, learning went beyond classroom walls and straight into our students' hands

By trying out the traditional grinding stone, they didn't just read about history—they experienced it firsthand. We are supporting practical, hands-on learning that connects our rich cultural heritage with real-world skills.

From Elohim Babies to Young Changemakers
There are moments that remind us why long-term investment in children matters.
The young people in these photos were once children supported through Elohim Development Association. Today, they have grown into confident, resilient, and promising young adults.
Their journey reflects the impact of consistent care, mentorship, education, and community support. It is a testament to what is possible when vulnerable children are given the opportunity to grow in a safe and nurturing environment.
As we celebrate their achievements, we reaffirm our commitment to empowering children, adolescents, and families through holistic programs that build resilience, restore hope, and create sustainable futures.
To every partner, donor, volunteer, and community member who has walked this journey with us—thank you. Your support continues to transform lives for generations to come.

It has been a minute since we visited the breathtaking Sipi Falls in Kapchorwa, but the memories and connections built there still keep us deeply inspired!

A massive thank you to Girl Up Initiative Uganda for being phenomenal hosts! True collaboration goes beyond meetings—sharing those trails and laughing together allowed us to build the deep friendships and trust that keep our coalition resilient. We returned home refreshed, inspired, and ready to keep empowering the next generation.

Look at this incredible journey!

There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the young people who grew up under our wings now stepping into the world as confident leaders, guides, and inspirations to others.

The care and guidance provided in their early years have blossomed into something truly remarkable. They are the living breathing proof of our mission at Elohim Development Association, and they are paving the way for a brighter tomorrow.

To everyone who has supported us, cheered us on, and believed in the potential of these youth—this victory belongs to you too. Thank you for making this transformation possible!

Seeds of hope planted years ago have grown into a forest of inspiration!

Our hearts overflowed with joy when a special group of our Elohim Alumni came back home for a surprise visit. Raised within our walls from childhood, these incredible young men and women are now thriving, independent, working professionals.

Seeing them return to mentor our youngest generation is the ultimate reward. Legacy lives!

Learning is more powerful when it's shared.

As part of the ongoing 2026 AMPLIFY GIRLS Uganda Partners Peer Learning Exchange in Bukedea District, the Elohim Development Association team had the privilege of visiting local schools to see the Adolescent Girls and Boys Champion Programme in active implementation.

Witnessing these brave students engage so deeply in discussions around human rights, bodily autonomy, and dismantling harmful traditional practices was incredibly inspiring. It reinforces exactly why we do this work: when you give youth a safe space to speak up, they become the primary protectors and leaders of their own communities.

We are taking home invaluable insights on curriculum delivery, student safety tracking, and community engagement to enrich our own grassroots programs.
