Green Artivists is non-for profit, non governmental and environmental organization formed by a group of concerned youth from Arua, Uganda to engage and to empower the student youth and the marginalized youth at their various capacities, especially skills and talents to influence a conscious life style among the students and citizens in the region as to the actions each individual can undertake in
order to mitigate further devastation of the environment. The Green Artivists will disseminate information relating to the negative impacts of activities such as deforestation, bush burning, and poor garbage disposal, poor farming methods and land use skills and other environmentally harmful activities. The Green Artivists will also contribute to highlight the positive aspects of preserving green spaces. It is hoped that individuals and groups will take a sustainable action to preserve their endangered environment in the regions like West Nile that are experiencing cycles of increasing drought resulting in frequent bursts of famine and persistent poverty despite the richness of the land and its strategic positioning in Africa The environment devastation activities occurring in the country and Africa are manifesting negative impacts on the society’s economic stability, developmental capacity, and further reduction of the regional green spaces.
