🚨 Joint Monitoring Visit Successfully Conducted!

Today, district leaders, our valued partners, and local leaders joined hands to monitor the progress of our trainees in the vocational skills programme.

We visited participants undergoing training in:
🌱 Horticulture
💇‍♀️ Hair Dressing & Beauty
🔧 Mechanics
🐔 Poultry Farming

The leaders interacted directly with the trainees, observed practical sessions, and gave valuable feedback to ensure the training meets industry standards and empowers our youth and women with sustainable livelihoods.

This collaborative effort demonstrates our commitment to quality skills development and community empowerment.

Together we are building a skilled and self-reliant community! 💪

Arua City Council Signs Sub-Grant Support Agreements with Four CSOs under the SUIDAC Project

Arua City Council has today signed Sub-Grant Support Agreements with four Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to support the implementation of key activities under the Sustainable Urban Integration for Displacement-Affected Communities (SUIDAC) Project.

The City is implementing the SUIDAC Project valued at over UGX 3 billion, with a focus on social service and trade infrastructure development, capacity building, and the promotion of social cohesion among host and displacement-affected communities.

The four partner CSOs are:
Global Rehabilitation and Transformation Response (GRTR) – a refugee-led organisation
West Nile Community Action for Rural Development (WN-CARD)
Community Empowerment for Transformation Action – West Nile (CEFTRA-WN)
Rural Initiative Alliance for Development (RIAD) Foundation – a refugee-led organisation

A total of 18 percent of the project funds has been allocated to the CSOs to facilitate community-level implementation of SUIDAC interventions.

The agreement-signing ceremony was graced by His Worship Wadri Sam Nyakua, City Mayor; Mr. David Kyansaku, City Town Clerk; Mr. Moses Acole, ACAV Programs Manager; the SUIDAC Compliance Specialist, SUIDAC Focal Person, as well as Board Members and Executive Directors of the partner organisations.

The SUIDAC Project will be implemented over a period of three (3) years and aims to improve service delivery and strengthen social and economic integration for displacement-affected communities in Arua City.

The SUIDAC Project is funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented by Cities Alliance, a global partnership hosted by UNOPS and ACAV as the technical implementing organization.
