Congratulations to Lt. Gen. John Both Teny Marjal on his appointment as Acting Chief of General Staff of the SPLA-IO replacing Lt. Gen. Peter Thok Chuol, who has been discharged to seek medical treatment.

Since 2015, Gen. Both have served as Director of Finance and Administration at the SPLM/SPLA-IO GHQs. He has also served as Commander of Sector One since 2021, and prior to this appointment, he was Deputy Chief of General Staff for Administration and Finance of the SPLA-IO forces.

He is a respected commander, revolutionary, and disciplined soldier who passionately upholds the noble cause of the liberation struggle. The SPLM/SPLA-IO fraternity wishes him success. He is expected to boost morale and reorganize the SPLA-IOโ€™s response to the ongoing military offensives by the SPLM-IG/SSPDF, which are being carried out in disregard of the spirit and letter of the R-ARCSS.

The release of Dr. Riek Machar is essential to move the country forward. The team was led by Hon. Joseph Malwal D**g, focal person of SPLM-IO political bureau and chairperson of standing committee for foreign relations, the hardliners of the Luak should know that, we need peace and stability in South Sudan to end the ongoing crisis. CONDEMNATION OF KILLING 25 AND CIVILIAN IN PANKOR UNDER PAJIEK PAYAM.

With heavy heart and deep sorrow i would strongly condemn the killing of Stephen Pom Reath last two weeks and again 25 people have been killed yesterday by Government under the leadership of Hon James Chuol in pankor Boma on 21 feb 2026.

The office of Gawaar Youth in Ayod county true comdemn this in the strongest term possible. This tragic incidence witness by several people in the world wide and i hope the leadership will not get and for give.

Calling civillians for recieving ratio cards from WFP in Ayod county by commissioner is today bring the mourning for the entire community of Gawaar,lost of 25 people within aday is very painfully indeed.

I call upon the international community to brought these people into the book and they are responsible for lost the lives of 25 innocent civillians.

The leadership of Hon james chuol is totally collapse and fall, he call himself commissioner while their people dying like flies at all different corners of the county. We can call it fall leadership without mission and vission for tommorrow future.

To all our people i would like to inform you that, the government solidiers who are recycling in Ayod Town are not dinkas and nuer weew Alone much of them are chollo and they have to plan reveng killing of what happened in 2023 from chollo land. Please distance yourself from government control areas.

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, this morning held a consultative meeting with the Bureau of the AU Staff Association to advance dialogue on staff welfare & institutional reform.

The President of the Staff Association, Mr. Nouhou Thiam, & members of his Bureau briefed the Chairperson on key issues relating to staff welfare, & ongoing reform processes. They welcomed the reforms underway & expressed appreciation for the Chairpersonโ€™s inclusive & consultative leadership approach, noting that sustained engagement between leadership & staff has already yielded positive outcomes.

The Chairperson underscored that the strength & credibility of the Commission rests on its people, & emphasised that staff welfare & institutional effectiveness are mutually reinforcing pillars of a high-performing Commission.

H.E. Mr. Youssouf reassured the Bureau that the reform agenda is guided by the objective of enhancing delivery, strengthening accountability, & reinforcing the Commissionโ€™s credibility. He reaffirmed leadershipโ€™s commitment to fairness, transparency, & integrity in all processes.
