YSAT is officially in Bidibidi Refugee Settlement๐ŸŽ‰!

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our newest operational location: Bidibidi Refugee Settlement, yes you heard that right ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

This major milestone brings us one step closer to our ambitious 2030 Strategy of establishing a footprint across all refugee settlements in the West Nile region following our successful operations in;
๐Ÿ“ Adjumani โ€“ Pakelle Field office
๐Ÿ“ Madi Okollo โ€“ Rhino Camp HQ
๐Ÿ“ Terego โ€“ Rhino & Imvepi
๐Ÿ“ Arua city - Regional Coordination Office
๐Ÿ“ Yumbe (Bidibidi) โ€“ just launched 1st June

๐ŸŒ Driving Our 2030 Strategic Plan, expansion into Bidibidi directly operationalizes YSATโ€™s core strategic focus areas, tailored to the settlement's immediate needs:

๐ŸŸข ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ Saving Lives & Peacebuilding: Promoting social cohesion, harmony, and critical protection for people on the move.
๐ŸŸข ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Protection: safeguarding forcibly displaced children and youth on the move.
๐ŸŸข ๐ŸŒพ Building Resilient Communities: Launching youth-led livelihoods and robust environmental protection initiatives.
๐ŸŸข ๐Ÿ“š Transforming Lives: Supporting the critical water management transition to ensure displaced children and youth have the sustainable resources needed to thrive.

By scaling our infrastructure into Bidibidi, is proving its readiness to manage large-scale, complex transitions. But true scale requires collaboration and partnership which remains the ultimate key to unlocking this vision.

๐Ÿค Partner With Us For 2030

To our incredible partners and potential donors: our footprint is expanding rapidly, our compliance is airtight, and our impact is scaling. There has never been a better time to invest in youth-led transformation in West Nile. Letโ€™s build the future together!

๐ŸŒ Climate change and peace go hand-in-hand: YSAT Oxfam gathered to build a more resilient future!

On 26th May, YSAT participated in an insightful, high-level dialogue organized by Oxfam under the Project.

The theme? โ€œStrengthening Collaboration for Sustainable Communities.โ€ ๐Ÿค

This meeting brought together a diverse group of community leaders, civil society actors, refugees, host communities, and development stakeholders. Together, we tackled the heavy intersection of climate change, resource-based conflicts, and social cohesion.

We all agreed on one major thing: the best solutions are community-driven!
๐ŸŒฑ Main areas of focus included:
โ‡๏ธ Boosting local skills for climate adaptation.
โ‡๏ธ Protecting natural resources sustainably.
โ‡๏ธ Ensuring women and youth have a powerful voice in peacebuilding.

By working together, we are turning dialogue into collective action for peaceful, thriving communities.

๐Ÿ‘‰ What does climate resilience look like in your community? Let us know in the comments!

๐Ÿšจ Funding cuts wonโ€™t stop us from protecting and educating displaced children in Rhino Camp โ€ผ๏ธ

When budget drops lead to devastating staff layoffs across the ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฌ Refugee Response, local action must step up. YSAT ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฌ and War Child Nederland are refusing to let vulnerable learners fall through the cracks.

Thanks to funding from the Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฑ, we just concluded a high-stakes, 3-day refresher training for 2๏ธโƒฃ4๏ธโƒฃ frontline educators and protection practitioners under the Project.

Wondering how we are making it possible and turning the tide in West Nile, check ๐Ÿ‘‡

โ‡๏ธ ๐Ÿ’ช More Boots on the Ground
We recruited and deployed 4 new assistant teachers and 2 Protection Assistants to reinforce our existing team.
โ‡๏ธ๐Ÿ“ฑ Tech-Driven Education (Can't Wait To Learn)
Teachers and school leaders mastered tablet-based learning, digital curriculum integration, and software troubleshooting to elevate classroom engagement.
โ‡๏ธ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Bulletproof Safeguarding (TeamUp & Case Management)
Facilitators and caseworkers sharpened skills in psychosocial support and child protection. Using the REACH NOW tool, they are now equipped for rapid case detection and emergency referrals.

Why this matters to our donors and community:

๐ŸŸข๐ŸŽฏ Safer Spaces: Stronger referral pathways for at-risk children.
๐ŸŸข๐Ÿ“ˆ Better Outcomes: Blended digital learning that works.
๐ŸŸข๐Ÿค Local Leadership: 28-year veteran educators are calling this training a career first.

Investing in teachers is the ultimate way to protect learners. Want to sponsor or donate a CWTL kit for displaced children get in touch www.youthsat.org
