Northern Albertine Sustainable Energy Network (NASEN) is a network formed as a result of the need to bring together actors in the Northern Albertine graben that have a speciality and interest in promoting community access to sustainable energy. Northern Albertine Sustainable Energy Network (NASEN) is a loose network formed as a result of the need to bring together actors in the Northern Albertine

graben that have a speciality and interest in promoting community access to sustainable energy under a project funded by world wide fund for Nature Uganda Country office (WWF) through Rural Initiative for Community Empowerment West Nile (RICE WN). It is also a buildup of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) clean energy project that brought together 17 NGO’s implementing clean energy interventions in the 6 districts of Maracha, Arua, Nebbi, Koboko, Moyo and Adjumani having recognized the need to sustain the energy interventions beyond the project time frame, widen the scope by bringing on board other actors such as private sector, cultural and religious institutions as well as open up to other districts in the region in order to effectively address the energy needs of the most affected communities.

i. To Enhance the capacity of network members in institutional and sustainable energy aspects
ii. To Create a platform for information sharing among clean energy actors
iii. To influence policy discussions and debates on promotion of clean energy
iv. To increase access to clean energy alternatives. To promote linkages and partnerships with energy related stakeholders
