We are pleased to share that our representative participated in a high-level dialogue on Common African Foreign Policy, convened by LPI and FES in Ethiopia.

The dialogue explored how Africa can strengthen its collective voice in a rapidly changing global order, and ensure more coordinated and strategic engagement on issues such as peace, climate change, trade, and development.

We emphasized that Africa must move:

“From reacting to global events to shaping global decisions.”

We also highlighted the central role of young people in Africa’s transformation. With over 60% of Africa’s population under 25, youth are already driving innovation, peacebuilding, and civic action but must be meaningfully included in decision-making spaces.

As stressed during the intervention:

“Youth must move from participation to influence.”

We remain committed to advancing inclusive dialogue and strengthening youth participation in Africa’s governance and global engagement.

Our Youth advocates had the opportunity to meet the SRSG on Children and Armed Conflict in Malta to share the impactful work they have been leading in their communities.

The discussion focused on children’s rights, peacebuilding, education, protection, and the role of young people in creating safer and more inclusive communities affected by conflict and displacement. Participants highlighted community-led initiatives supporting refugee children and youth through education, psychosocial support, advocacy, digital skills, and creative activities that promote hope and resilience.
