A study from the department of Biomedical Sciences, Mangosuthu University of Technology, South Africa records that E. coli shows significant resistance to ceftriaxone (31.4%), Gentamycin (10.4%), cefepime (6.3%) an,d piperacillin-tazobactam (3.5%) among patients admitted in an intensive care unit (ICU) at Inkosi Albert Luthuli central (IALCH) hospital in Kwazulu-Natal.
