【Hold on to suffering】

Sri Bhagavan: "The main teaching of the Dharma is to hold the suffering. You should put effort to hold it carefully like a new born baby. You generally escape from suffering. You do not confront suffering. You are seeking ways to escape. There are many ways to escape. We can have a hilarious example.

Suppose there is a leopard or a tiger in your room, you try to escape by holding on to the fan. How long can you escape in that case? In no time the tiger will catch and eat you.

WE ARE SAYING: 'Jump into the Tiger's mouth. Let the Tiger (suffering) maul you, chew you, and eat you. Then you are gone; the suffering is gone. Most people don't do it. When there is suffering, you do not want to confront it.

Now how do we hold suffering ?

When you go to those escapes, become aware and hold on to the suffering. When you lose your job, when you feel bad that you are betrayed by someone, or there is a loss in business, hold on to the suffering. 'HOLD IT' is the key-word of this Dharma. When you hold it, then magic happens. Because of suns heat the butterfly gets wings to fly. Similarly when you hold the suffering, in the heat of that attention, SUFFERING becomes JOY. But if you do not hold it, it will come again and again and continue to haunt you. If you hold it, magic happens.”
