HAPPY FIREFIGHTER'S DAY
Please pray for your local firefighters and for Ukraine's firefighters.
Here in Ukraine, the firefighters are battle weary and are really soldiers of safety, rescue, and and response to the drones and missiles hits.

MORE BROILER CHICKS
We got our 2nd group of 50 broiler chicks and settled them into the 'baby bird box'. The other set had already been moved into their next location, the teenager pen.

EASTER 2026 VOLUNTEERS - LIVING HOPE SOUP KITCHEN
Archie, volunteer, was on a happy roll this day and took this video showing everyone and what they are doing.
Laura is cutting meat, Mark is working on the homemade juice, Yura and Maria are preparing potatoes and carrots for the Ukrainian Ukha fish soup, Valia is working (with Archie) on the condiments for the pinwheels, & Katia and Luba are preparing the salad (Ukrainian Vinaigrette salad).

A NEW ENDEAVOR - NEW LIFE CENTER
We've been helping the guys at the center to get ready for chickens this month and finally on April 25th they were ready and we brought some laying hens to them; 10 older from our flock and 10 new ones that are 3 mo old.
On April 14th we helped them with some supplies to convert an old greenhouse into an outdoor chicken coop with a small door into a room in the barn for their inside coop.
Director Daniel sent us a picture in the morning of April 26th showing the eggs that they collected; we were not sure if the hens would lay after the big move the day before.

REPURPOSING
With Laura having her new office and desk, her old closet desk has been repurposed into a clothing closet for her. With this increase in space, she has room for all her clothes in one place and I (Mark) have added her 2 old closets to my 2 closets giving me space for all my things.
No more storing seasonal clothing up in the attic of the pavilion. YEAH !
And by having all the closets along one wall, it has opened up the small room and it doesn't feel overcrowded anymore.

LADYZHYN PRISON VISIT
On April 22d, we made our last Easter prison visit. Natasha and I (Laura) drove the 2 hours or so down to Ladyzhyn. We gave a ride; to Pastor Vadim so we had plenty of time to get to know him.
Pastor Mekolya brought some home made treats, while we brought candy and orange juice. We also brought down some pocket Jesus gifts.
We were also joined by Galya who lives near there and attends Pastor Vadim's church.
We really enjoy the staff at this prison and they are just as happy to see us.

LIVING HOPE SOUP KITCHEN
On April 21st, the on-time food gift was pancakes with jam. We had the standard soup, a cabbage salad and buckwheat. We also served hot dogs. We have some really good processes that we used to make the huge amounts of food we serve. And, we are really blessed to have a variety of volunteers.
Mark gave his testimony as the Gospel message.

NATIONAL PRISON MINISTRY CONFERENCE
On April 17 & 18, I (Laura) attended the annual conference again. This year it was in Vinnytsia, so much easier to attend. The conference was held in the largest Baptist Church in the city, where they have housing, a mess hall and other facilities.
Each region that was in attendance had the chance to give a report of what God is doing in their prison ministry. There were also a number of speakers, to include me through Natasha. Different groups and individuals provided music and lead worship.
Only about 25% of the attendees also attended last year; it was in Irpin just outside Kyiv. The locations differ so that those in different areas can have a chance to attend.
