Our supporters Amelia and Anastasia are organising a special fundraising evening in London on 24 October in support of Ukrainian Medical Charity.

The goal is to raise funds to buy, equip and deliver another ambulance for frontline medics in Ukraine, helping them reach the wounded faster and continue their vital work in extremely difficult conditions.

The event will take place at the Ukrainian Social Club in London and will include a three-course dinner, wine, a ceilidh, a raffle, an auction and speeches from special guests.

Tickets are £75, with proceeds going towards the ambulance.

🫶🏻 Another full load of medical and humanitarian aid has now arrived at our Processing and Distribution Centres in Leamington Spa and at the University of Warwick in Coventry.

This time, the load came from Cardiff For Ukraine🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇺🇦, whose continued support helps us keep a steady flow of essential medical and humanitarian supplies moving where they are needed most.

The collection was carried out together with International Ambulance Aid (Belveder), our long-term partners in this work. Among the donated items were medicines, wheelchairs, mobility aids, medical equipment and other essential supplies.

From here, everything will be prepared for onward delivery to Ukraine, where hospitals, medics and communities continue to work under the pressure of war and need reliable access to essential supplies.

We are incredibly grateful to Cardiff for Ukraine for continuing to support our work, and to International Ambulance Aid for helping turn these donations into real deliveries.

❗️UMC is partnering with OET to support Ukrainian healthcare professionals in the UK who are preparing to take the OET exam.

For many Ukrainian healthcare professionals here, language is one of the biggest steps on the way back into their profession, and passing the OET exam can be an important part of that journey.

As part of the partnership, OET is offering our community a free introductory webinar covering the practical side of the test - how to book it, what to expect on the day and how to share results with professional regulators. There may also be further support with preparation and discounts for those planning to take the test.

We are now trying to understand how many people in our community are planning to take the OET exam within the next 12 months.

We were glad to see Ukrainian doctor Olena Ipek’s story featured by the BBC and AOL 🙌🏻

Olena trained and worked as a doctor in Ukraine and is now rebuilding her medical career in the UK after having to start a new life abroad amid the war. Over the past months, she has been volunteering at a stroke rehabilitation unit in Kent through Helpforce’s Volunteer to Career programme while working towards returning to clinical practice.

She has now passed the exams required for international medical graduates and is in the final stages of receiving her GMC licence, with support from Ukrainian Medical Charity along the way.

This support is part of UMC’s work with the British Red Cross, helping Ukrainian healthcare professionals in the UK navigate the GMC registration process and return to their professions.

Olena’s experience is familiar to many Ukrainian healthcare professionals in the UK. Even with years of education and clinical experience, entering a new healthcare system can take time and come with many practical barriers.

At UMC, we continue working with Ukrainian healthcare professionals through this process, together with the British Red Cross, Helpforce and our other partners.

A little behind-the-scenes look at how medical donations begin their journey from the UK to Ukraine 🇬🇧🇺🇦

These photos show a recent collection from UHCW University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire, with supplies brought to our Warehouse (Processing and Distribution Centre) in Leamington Spa.

This work is a joint effort between UMC and International Ambulance Aid (Belveder). UMC and our volunteers are involved throughout the process — from sourcing and collecting supplies to sorting, processing, packing and transport. International Ambulance Aid works alongside us, supporting collections, processing and ambulance logistics.

A lot happens before an ambulance is ready to leave — checking, sorting, packing, moving and loading supplies. It is not always the most visible part of the work, but it is what makes every delivery possible.

For Ukrainian medics working through the realities of war, access to the right equipment and supplies can make an immediate difference. That is why keeping this chain moving matters so much.

We are very grateful to International Ambulance Aid, the NHS teams donating supplies, our volunteers and everyone supporting this work.

🇺🇦 Marathon Complete — 776.8 km Together!

Today, on Ukraine’s Independence Day, we reach the finish line of our 35-day Charity Marathon.

Together, our incredible community has covered 776.8 km — walking, running, hiking and cycling in support of children in Kharkiv.

Every kilometre was a choice to move, to care and to stand together. 💙💛

We’re sharing another update from our recent delivery — this time from КНП "Київська міська клінічна лікарня 18".

Medical consumables collected in the UK and brought to Ukraine as part of Convoy 2026 have now reached the hospital, with the delivery coordinated locally by Alla Nalyvaiko and БФ "Україна на долонях".

Hospital No. 18 cares for people affected by the war, including patients undergoing surgery, treatment and rehabilitation. Its doctors and nurses continue this work while Kyiv faces almost daily missile and drone attacks.

The hospital team shared photos and told us that the supplies are already being used in their work with patients. For everyone who donated, packed and helped transport the aid, updates like this show where that support has gone.

A special thank you to Alla and Charity Foundation “Ukraine on Palms” for coordinating the delivery, and to Robert Drumgold for connecting us. Thank you to everyone who made Convoy 2026 possible, and especially to the Ukrainian medical teams continuing their work every day. 💙

A meaningful moment before Convoy 2026 began its journey to Ukraine. 💙💛

Bishop Kenneth Nowakowski blessed the 10 vehicles, the volunteers taking them across Europe, and everyone they will go on to support in Ukraine.

It was a simple but powerful reminder of why these vehicles matter - they can help get people to medical care when time is critical.

We’re especially grateful to the Ukrainian Catholic Church, Bishop Kenneth and Father Vitaliy for their support throughout the project - from helping with the purchase of the vehicles to giving them a blessing before departure.

And, as always, thank you to everyone who helped make this convoy possible.
