Since 1994, International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) has played a key role in the emergence of democratic electoral processes and institutions in Ukraine. We collaborate with civil society, public institutions and the private sector to build resilient democracies that deliver for everyone. Since 1987, IFES has worked in more than 145 countries, from developing to mature democracies. I

FES engages with critical issues in democracy, governance and elections around the world. In Ukraine, IFES efforts to strengthen democratic progress are supported by the United States Agency for International Development, Global Affairs Canada, and UK aid. To date, these efforts have led to unprecedented progress in:
- modernizing and enhancing public confidence in Ukraine’s Central Election Commission and its elections;
- encouraging consensus-based electoral reform toward frameworks that align with international standards;
- increasing cybersecurity resilience;
- improving electoral justice and integrity;
- promoting greater political inclusion of and access for vulnerable and underrepresented communities;
- advancing gender equality and women’s participation in politics;
- enhancing capacity of key civil society actors to engage as partners and monitors;
- strengthening political finance reform and combatting political corruption in partnership with the National Agency on Corruption Prevention;
- fostering engaged and informed civic and voter participation across the country in partnership with the Central Election Commission and universities.
