Two Smart Labs to be created and equipped in Moldova and Ukraine. Two advanced staff training sessions in Greece and Romania. Eight partner institutions across five countries. A timeline running to December 2027.

All of it printed on the inner cover of Industria Textilă, Volume 76, Special Issue 1, March 2025.

The journal is published by INCDTP, coordinator of the project: sixty years of continuous publication, six issues a year, indexed in Scopus.

Being on that page puts InnovaTex in front of the people who write textile curricula and run the laboratories where they are tested.

🌍 InnovaTex takes textile innovation to the international stage.

In November 2025, the InnovaTex project was showcased at the Euro Politehnicus International Innovation and Invention Show, hosted at the Politehnica University of Bucharest (UPB), Romania. The event brought together innovators, researchers, industry representatives and public institutions around the latest developments in applied innovation.

Participating in international fairs of this kind allows InnovaTex to present its work to a wider professional community and to position textile vocational education within the broader European innovation landscape. On this occasion, the project reached an audience of more than 620 people, including innovators and entrepreneurs, industry and research representatives, educators and policymakers.

InnovaTex is an Erasmus+ project dedicated to transforming vocational education and training for the textile sector in Moldova and Ukraine, through digitalization, sustainability and smart textiles. Bringing this mission to international audiences is an essential part of building recognition and long-term impact for the sector.

🏅 InnovaTex has received the Gold Medal Award.

The Erasmus+ InnovaTex project was presented during the 1st edition of the International Exhibition MOZAIK Innovative Art, organized by the CORNELIUGROUP Research-Innovation Association and held from 11 to 13 December 2025 in Deva, Romania.

The project was awarded the Gold Medal, adding to the Mozaik Textile Innovator Award received at the same exhibition. This recognition celebrates the work carried out by our partner INCDTP — the National Research and Development Institute for Textiles and Leather — with authors R.M. Aileni and A.C. Marin.

Congratulations to the INCDTP team on this further achievement for the entire InnovaTex consortium.

InnovaTex received the MOZAIK Textile Innovator Award at the International Exhibition MOZAIK – Innovative Art, 1st edition, held in Deva, Romania.

This recognition celebrates the project’s commitment to textile innovation, creative research and cross-border collaboration within the Erasmus+ framework.

The exhibition, organized by CORNELIUGROUP Research-Innovation Association, brought together art, creativity and innovation in an international setting, promoting new ideas and interdisciplinary approaches.

We are proud to see InnovaTex recognized for its contribution to the future of textile education and innovation.

InnovaTex partners gathered in Athens.

From 21 to 22 May 2026, the InnovaTex consortium met at the University of West Attica for its third Transnational Project Meeting, a key moment to align on progress and plan the next phase of the project.

Hosted by UNIWA, the two days brought together partners from Romania, Greece, Italy, Ukraine, and Moldova. Discussions focused on the development of the Smart Labs in Moldova and Ukraine, the coordination of trainer capacity building and advanced training programmes, the upcoming e-book and e-learning platform, and the communication strategy for the months ahead.

Eight partners across five countries, working together to strengthen vocational education and bring digital, sustainable, and smart textile skills into the European training landscape.

Three inspiring days in Athens for the 3rd Partner Meeting of our project.

Partners from Greece, Italy, Romania, Ukraine and Moldova came together to review the progress achieved during this crucial phase of the project. Reaching the halfway point gave us the opportunity to assess with satisfaction the achievement of our KPIs, the positive feedback received from stakeholders and external quality evaluators, and to plan the next steps ahead.

Upcoming activities will include the Advisory Board, e-learning platform training, Training of Trainers sessions, and local events.

A capacity building project that supports and promotes the local textile sector in Ukraine and Moldova through 3D modelling, smart textiles and eco-design.

All of this framed by the sunny beauty of Athens, with its history, colours and unforgettable atmosphere.

And now, we are already looking forward to our 4th Partner Meeting in 2027… in Rome!

The InnovaTex Project develops an innovative Smart Lab in Ukraine.

Through the selection and purchase of specialized equipment and software, the project supports professional training in the textile sector and promotes the adoption of advanced digital tools for design, 3D simulation, and the development of prototypes for personal protective equipment.

The activities involve universities, teaching staff, and learners, contributing to the strengthening of technical and digital skills within the framework of European textile innovation.
