The Centre for Sustainable Peace and Democratic Development in Ukraine
The Centre for Sustainable Peace and Democratic Development (SeeD) is a research-driven innovative think tank, generating evidence to inform programmes and policies around the world. Together with local partners, we help identify root causes of conflict and drivers of positive change. So far our efforts have reached Ukraine, Moldova, Cyprus, Liberia, Malaysia, Nepal, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Iraq, and more.
We are SeeD’s Eastern Europe team located in Kyiv, Ukraine. Projects here date back to 2015 and the aim of this page is to keep you updated with our research findings, let you know about our public events and help you navigate published data independently.
To generate good evidence we first listen and only then we adapt best research practices. Apart from key partners who turn to us with their experience and interests, we reach out and talk to international organizations, members of civil society, government representatives, country think-tanks and experts, both in a capital city and well beyond. This dialogue guides our research at all its stages, from design to outreach.
In Ukraine our partners are USAID supported Ukraine Confidence Building Initiative (UCBI) and Democratic Governance East (DG East), with whom we have been conducting nation-wide research; and UN agencies such as UNDP, IOM and UNICEF, who run the USE project, focused on the five eastern oblasts of Ukraine.
