This is the English-language page of Plast - National Scouting Organization of Ukraine, which:
- was founded in 1912 in Lviv
- has over 17,000 members internationally in 25 countries,
- of the total international membership 13 000 members are in Ukraine

Plast is a volunteer, non-political, non-confessional, non-profitable and independent international organization, whose activities take place throughout Ukraine and in 25 other countries
Plast is part of the international scout movement, one of the first national scouting organizations in the history of scouting and is the biggest national scout organization in Ukraine and the largest Ukrainian youth orientated organization internationally. From August 1 to 8, the international scout camp Ali per la Pace (Wings of Peace) took place in the mountain town of Corna Imagna. It was organized by the MASCI Movimento Adulti Scout Cattolici Italiani and brought together 50 teenagers aged 12 to 16 from five countries — Ukraine, Israel, France, Switzerland, and Italy.

The main focus of the camp was building peace, dialogue, and international solidarity through practical Scouting experiences: for eight days, Scouts lived in tents, hiked mountain trails, and shared everyday camp life, showing that a new generation can choose unity and brotherhood over conflict.

During the camp, the participants took part in team games, went on hikes, held cooking competitions and a workshop, and gathered every evening for singing and around the campfire.

The project was made possible thanks to the organization and leaders of MASCI Lombardia, the sponsors of the “Fondo Ali per la Pace” foundation, as well as the hospitality and active support of the entire local community of Corna Imagna. Thank you! 💙💛

What does Scouting look like when hundreds of Scouts come together from different countries? 🇺🇦🌍

For us, it looked like the Central European Jamboree 2026 in Hungary.

From 1 to 8 August, 14 Plast Scouts and leaders joined CEJ 2026 as the Ukrainian delegation. Together with Scouts from Central Europe and beyond, we camped, explored, learned, shared cultures and made new friends at the Sztrilich Pál Scout Centre near Budapest.

One of our favourite moments was the International Day.

Together with a Ukrainian Guide, we invited Scouts to discover a little bit of Ukraine: we taught them how to make “motanky”— traditional Ukrainian rag dolls — shared Ukrainian sweets and, of course, told them about Plast.

But some of the most memorable moments happened during the opening and closing ceremonies.

Standing there, surrounded by people who share the same values and believe in making the world a better place, was a powerful reminder of what Scouting can create.

And Ukrainian Scouts are honored to be part of that global community.

We are grateful to the organizers for this wonderful camp, for giving Ukraine the opportunity to join, and for giving our children the chance to spend a week in peace, without war.

We are also grateful to the Plast Ukrainian Scouting Organization - USA for the support. Without it, our children would not have been able to take part.

🇺🇦🇫🇮 Plast scouts joined Kaiku 2026, a Finnish national scout camp at the Evo camping area.

From 10 to 18 July, around 2,000 scouts came together from across Finland, with about 100 international participants from countries including Canada, Italy, Croatia, Spain, Georgia and more.

Our Scouts joined activities alongside Finnish participants and got a chance to meet Scouts from other countries too. And they brought some of their own skills to the camp.

🏕️ Our 15+ group built a gate for our subcamp and shared their pioneering skills with Finnish Scouts.

🌧️ Younger participants took part in a pioneering activity in the field — and even dug drainage trenches around our tents before the rain came. A very practical Scout skill when you’re camping in Finland!

Beyond the programme, there was plenty of time to connect: shared meals, conversations and several camp discos brought our Scouts together with Italian and Croatian participants.

For us, Kaiku was also about feeling welcome. The Finnish Scouts paid special attention to making sure our group was comfortable throughout the camp, regularly checking in with us and taking extra care around activities involving drones and filming.

Thank you, Finnish Scouts, for inviting us to Kaiku 2026 and for creating a camp where Scouts of different ages, countries and backgrounds could simply meet, learn from each other and have a great time together ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

40 Plast Scouts travelled to Brescia, Italy, to spend a week at a camp organised by AGESCI - Gruppo Brescia 11.

The camp was inspired by “The Odyssey” — but our Scouts had their own journey to make.

They learned to build and organise their camp life from scratch: putting together camp tables, preparing their own meals every day and taking responsibility for their team.

They competed in sports, took part in practical first aid and archaeology workshops, and spent their evenings around the campfire.

And then came the cultural exchange. 🥣

During a cooking competition, Plast Scouts introduced their Italian friends to Ukrainian cuisine by making borscht, lazy varenyky, Olivier salad and homemade lemonade.

In return, we learned Italian words, camp traditions and ceremonies — including how Italian Scouts organise their campfires.

Different organisations, different languages, different traditions — and plenty to learn from each other.

Thank you to AGESCI Brescia 11 for welcoming Plast Scouts and making this exchange possible. We hope this is only one of many more Scout adventures together. 🇺🇦🇮🇹

From 25 to 28 August, ukrainian city Odesa became a space for international solidarity, civic dialogue and service through “Odesa Now”, a peaceful international initiative bringing people together around shared values of peace, freedom and justice.

Plast joined a meeting of youth organisations with representatives of the international movement MEAN Movimento Europeo Azione Nonviolenta, sharing our experience of supporting children and young people throughout russia’s full-scale invasion — and how the Plast educational (scout) method helps build resilience, leadership and a sense of community.

We also had the chance to meet our long-time friends from AGESCI - Associazione Guide e Scouts Cattolici Italiani, the Italian Scout movement. Italian Scouts have been supporting Ukrainian Plast members for years and welcoming them to camps in Italy. This summer alone, we held 11 camps together. 🇮🇹🤝🇺🇦

And, of course, we put our Scout values into action.

Ukrainian and Italian Scouts joined volunteer activities with organisations supporting children and vulnerable families in Odesa. Together, we visited House of Hope at Caritas-Spes Odesa and joined the Integrated Support for Vulnerable Families project run by Depaul Ukraine.

What happens when 15 Ukrainian Plast Scouts join 19 Italian Scouts for 10 days in Sicily?

You build a camp together.
Cook over the fire.
Sleep under the stars.
Get lost on purpose.
Help people in a nearby village.
And somehow, by the end, you feel like one team.

Campo Estivo 2026, held from 22 July to 1 August at Parco Statella in Randazzo, Sicily, organized by Reparti Antares & Sirio SR7.

The camp was inspired by the story of Odysseus, a journey full of obstacles, with one goal: finding his way back to his family.

The Scouts had their own journeys, too.

At the beginning, each patrol built its own camp: tents, a kitchen, tables and other structures — all from scratch.

Then came the missions.

Patrols travelled to nearby villages, where they had to discover stories about the place and its people, complete a good deed, earn one meal and spend the night there before making their way back to camp.

There were competitions, campfire cooking, pioneering, performances, games and plenty of singing — including both Italian and Ukrainian songs. 🇮🇹🇺🇦

A huge thank you to AGESCI Siracusa 7, and especially to group leaders Lucia Aliffi and Paolo Gozzo, for making this experience possible. 💙💛

The journey may have started with Odysseus.

For 12 days, Plast members — Ukrainian Scouts — took part in the “Lavarone. Unbreakable 2026” Scout Camp, organised by Scout Bussolengo 1.
The camp theme was “Dragons and Vikings”, with a central message: to overcome the dragon within ourselves and stand up to the “dragons” in the world, just as Saint George did.

Each day began with a short performance introducing the day’s theme. Participants also received specially prepared booklets with discussions, questions, prayers and reflections for each day.

Together with our Italian friends, we hiked to Lake Lavarone, climbed to an observatory and visited Dragon Mountain. We also set off on a two-day, 27-kilometre hike to a fortress on a mountain summit.

At the Ukrainian campfire, our Scouts shared traditions from across the Ukrainian calendar year: Hayivky songs and dances, the celebration of Ivan Kupala, a traditional Ukrainian wedding, and carolling traditions. Italian Scouts especially enjoyed Ukrainian dances - Kryvyi and Hrechanyky, as well as wedding wreath game. Ukrainian Scouts also taught their Italian friends how to make friendship bracelets in the colours of both countries’ flags.

Our Scouts also had an opportunity to learn more about Italian Scouting. We saw how local Scout groups are based in churches, which provide them with meeting spaces and equipment, and how parents actively contribute to Scout camps, helping with both set-up and take-down.

Each morning, four flags were raised over the camp: the Scout flag, the Ukrainian flag, the Italian flag and the European Union flag.

We sincerely thank Bussolengo 1, especially Enrico Mirandola, for preparation leading up to the camp, and AGESCI - Associazione Guide e Scouts Cattolici Italiani for their support.

We are also grateful to the Continental Farmers Group and the Department of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports of Shumsk City Council for their support, and to Plast members in the United States who helped our participants with their travel to Italy.

These days together reminded us once again that Scouts are young people who are self-reliant, care deeply about their faith and their country, do good deeds, know how to build friendships and make the world a better place. 💚

From 1 to 11 August, Plast members — Ukrainian Scouts — took part in the Fratellanza dei Pirati Scout Camp in Casale Monferrato, Italy. Together with Italian Scouts, we spent ten days at a camp organised by AGESCI - Associazione Guide e Scouts Cattolici Italiani .

This year’s camp focused on brotherhood — embracing others and recognising the value of every person around us.

Ukrainian and Italian Scouts lived and camped together, with two or three Ukrainian Scouts joining each patrol.

Ukrainian Scouts also shared our traditions with our Italian friends. Together, we made motanka dolls and traditional Christmas spiders, learned about the Ukrainian Nativity play, vyshyvanka and traditions, cooked borscht and kutia.

In return, we discovered Italian Scouting — its songs, prayers, traditions and camp life. Scouts from both countries went hiking together, visited a church and explored Casale Monferrato.

Another special moment was the totem name ceremony, giving us an opportunity to experience another Italian Scouting tradition and learn more about its culture and practices.

After the camp, we also had the opportunity to visit a Scout base in Colico and continue discovering the Italian Scouting movement.

Ten days together showed us something simple: you do not have to speak the same language to become friends.

“Siamo tutti sulla stessa barca” — “We are all in the same boat”. Because together, we support one another, overcome challenges and move forward. This is the spirit of scout brotherhood we are taking home with us.

Thank you to Enzo Amich for helping us with transportation and providing a bus, and to Mayor Paolo Lavagno for making it possible to hold the camp in the protected area of Ponzano Monferrato. Thanks to group leaders Alessandra Bonino and Lorenzo Biagioni, as well as Scout leaders Elena Claudi, Giulia Scarrone, Luca De Simoni, Lavinia Blanco and Chiara Bergnach.

We are also grateful to Michelangelo Rapisardi and Maria Letizia De Bellis for their help with accommodation and for accompanying us to the Scout base in Colico.

For ten unforgettable days, the cub scouts of Plast’s troop stepped into a story that felt like a fairytale come to life. In sunny San Severo, Italy, they shared an international Scout camp with Scouts from Italy and France, discovering not only a new country but also new friendships, new cultures, and the true spirit of the global Scout Movement.

Although we spoke different languages, it didn’t take long to realise that a smile, a helping hand, teamwork, campfires, games, songs, and laughter are understood everywhere. That’s how friendships without borders begin.

This international camp became a powerful learning experience for our young Scouts. It strengthened their confidence, encouraged openness and mutual respect, and showed them how much we can learn from one another while celebrating our differences. Every day brought new adventures, meaningful connections, and memories that will stay with them for years to come.

Our journey didn’t end when the camp was over. We were incredibly grateful to experience the warmth, kindness, and generous hospitality of our friends from Agesci Gruppo Torremaggiore 2 Agesci Lesina 1 and AGESCI San Paolo di Civitate 1! Thank you for opening your hearts and welcoming Ukrainian children with such care, friendship, and generosity. Your support means more than words can express.

“One World, One Promise” is more than a slogan—it is a value we experienced together. It reminds us that through Scouting we build a world shaped by peace, friendship, understanding, and respect.

We are deeply grateful to the brave defenders of Ukraine, whose courage makes moments like these possible. Because of them, Ukrainian children can discover the world, build friendships across borders, and return home with hope and the belief that kindness is stronger than fear.

We came home with unforgettable memories, lifelong friends, and a renewed belief that Scout friendship truly knows no borders.

A group of Plast Scouts recently returned from an unforgettable international scout camp in Italy, hosted alongside our scout brothers and sisters from Gruppo scout Agesci Brindisi 2

Held from July 16 to 26 in the province of Potenza, this joint camp offered a meaningful platform for youth to connect through core Scouting values: friendship, service, respect for the environment, solidarity, and international brotherhood.

The exchange culminated in a deeply moving farewell evening inside the breathtaking Brindisi Cathedral.

A successful camp is always powered by a strong community! Huge thanks to everyone who made this experience possible:
International Fellowship of Scouts and Rotarians (IFSR) & Rotary Club Brindisi for their essential support.
Cathedral Basilica of the Visitation and St. John the Baptist (led by Don Mimmo Roma) for their warm hospitality.
