I've noticed that many new members are joining this group from our adoption group and other adoption resources. To clarify our preferences regarding surrogacy versus adoption, please read my response to all couples who send requests to our adoption email.
Thank you for your request. Unfortunately, adoption is currently suspended due to the ongoing war. Another challenge is that foreign couples can only adopt children who are over 5 years old in Ukraine, and frankly speaking, adopting children is almost impossible not only in Ukraine, but also in the whole world. Surrogacy is a more realistic and practical option.
Over the last 8 years, we have helped numerous couples with surrogacy. Although we have had adoption cases for US married couples, they tend to adopt older children from hosting programs or special needs children, and the process can take a long time, from 2 to 4 years. The preparation of the adoption paperwork is complicated and time-consuming, and there is no guarantee of success. Therefore, surrogacy is currently the best option. The total cost of surrogacy in Ukraine is approximately the same as the total fees for adoption in the US. Couples can make just one short trip of 2-3 days to Kiev city or Lviv city to pick up the baby or two trips, one for biomaterial collection and the other for baby delivery. Only 3 official documents are needed to start the process, and payments can be made directly and in installments, not upfront. The process is clear and fast, with no bureaucratic governmental offices or courts involved. We work with top fertility clinics and doctors, and we are flexible enough to change the clinic or delivery hospital if the situation there becomes worse at a specific time frame. Our own database of egg donors with pictures and surrogates has been built up over 8 years.
